Wow, 75 years old, that's a magic birthday number! Surely for an event of that magnitude he wants this-or-that-or-such-and-such!

...Umm, no. He doesn't. I've asked him, and he doesn't want anything. That's the problem!

I've decided that despite his objections he's getting something, but I'm not sure what. Books always works, he reads, but I don't know much of anything outside of SF and fantasy genres, which he don't read. He and my mum read lots of crime novels, but I was thinking something which isn't about murders or solving murders, policemen solving said murders, or murderers themselves. Or similar, related matters.

Anyone have a suggestion...? Don't get hung up on that he's gonna turn "old guy" and that it has to be suitable for a geezer; he's quite open-minded in most matters.

Thanks in advance.

Buy him a: PS4 + X1 + Gaming PC

That was easy...what is next :)

Well...I really like the kindle type of experience for reading books. Would this be an option?

Also, I figured that a iPad kind of device is very well suited for older people, who are not that into computers, but still want to use the internet.

If they like crime novels why don't you want to buy them? Historical fiction might work if they read contemporary crime fiction.

Does he also tell stories about something great from his childhood? See if you can source said item / drink / food / whatever.

My dad turned 75 back in march heh. And yeah, finding presents doesn't get easier by age.

If he's an avid reader, what about a Kindle Paperwhite and an Amazon account with money on it already? I'm not sure what your budget is as that's obviously not on the cheap side but it's not outrageously expensive either.

Get as many friends and family members as possible to record short videos recalling some fun or meaningful time or event they shared with him and then create a video collage for him.

What sort of budget are you thinking?
Up to around €50 or so I suppose. Like I said, he usually doesn't want gifts (and he lives in a home that he and my mum have packed full of things over the course of a lifetime), so it's no point in buying him anything extravagant anyway.

$15 hooker? Thanks, I think I'll pass...

Also, you don't get much blow for $.18... ;)

Is it one of those japanese hugging (humping........) pillows? If that's the case, I'm sorry but I think I'm gonna pass on that one also. ;)

My dad wanted the book "How to have absolutely nothing to do with your neighbours"
I ordered it for him unfortunately he was out when it got delivered :D
