MS announces "XNA"

the presentation was cool..next generation ATI hw (r420?) run quite fast. MS shown some very impressive demos.
Anyway..they seemed much more focused on sw (the XNA thing) than hw.

ciao,
Marco

Do you know for sure that the demos were being run in real-time on hardware, or if they were off-line rendered and played back?

All the 3 demos were realtime..they changed parameters and camera angles all the time ;)

The car one had to be real time, I saw aliasing on more than one occasion.

That probably won't be an issue on real Xbox hardware...

Not saying it will be, just saying, it's a great way of proving something is real time. Unless it's some shitty FMV, though I have never seen FMV with jaggies.

Microsoft XNA is the catalyst for a new ecosystem of interchangeable, interoperable software tools and technologies from Microsoft, middleware and game development companies.
:)

Note the car in the crash demo has an Ontario license plate as well.
