Priest

Dark steampunk sci-fi with priests that are trained to kill vampires. Think of Blade and Judge Dredd with a bit of a western thrown in. ;) I liked it.

Bridesmaids. 6/10. It was quite funny in parts but still took itself seriously a lot of the time. During those times, it can resort to some cringy chick flick stuff.

Thor. 8/10. Perhaps I was surprised that they were able to make an entertaining movie out of Thor but I enjoyed the action, humor and acting in the movie.

Fast Five. 8/10. Take a little bit to get going but once it does, it's one awesome action sequence after another. I like that they stopped pretending to go after "realism" and just said, let's just do some cool shit on the screen.

127 hours. 3/10. Sorry but I was bored out of my mind watching this. Just didn't do anything for me.

I thought the movie was fairly well done. Perhaps I just could get into it a bit more given my proclivity for outdoor activities. I was distracted by thinking he was an idiot for not going with a buddy, or at least telling someone where he was going and when he would be back. Everyone knows better than that. I also did not understand why he waited till he was so weak to cut his arm off. It seems a person should just get it over with. It also seemed he could have used the rock to break the bones earlier, but hey whatever.

You do realize that its a true story right?

The reason why he waited so long was because he didn't have the courage and at the end when he realized he couldn't do anything he cut it of out of desperation, I thought it was pretty simple to understand as that is how human mind works.

The Hangover Part 2 anyone?
I thought it was... OK.
i mean, funny yes, but i just felt it was the same as the first, based in Thailand. Funny moments but not as funny as the first.

Definitely not as funny and really nothing more than a recycling of the first movie. Worth a rental, but not hte $22 the wife and I paid Sunday night.

I listened to an interview with the writer of The Hangover 2 on a local radio station and he said that he doesn't think the movie itself is as funny as the first and it wasn't intended to be, that they were going for a more darker film as far as what happens to them in the sequel.

I just paid 16 bucks for the wife and my sister to go see it. I don't have a problem spending money when it is actually WORTH spending money on. This movie does not fall in to that category. I guess I am not a big fan of these kinds of cheesey lame pop culturey comedy movies.

Agreed. Fortunately the matinée was only $5 so I'd say it was worth it.

Too Big to Fail is really good.

A man cut off his own leg with a pocket knife to free himself after he was pinned beneath a fallen tree for almost 11 hours.

11 hours. 127 hours. The point is if you are going to have to do it waiting decreases your odds of survival. The human mind apparently worked very differently for this other person.

I just don't understand all the glorification of what is basically a boneheaded move. Take another person with you, have a plan and a time you expect to return. Tell someone to call in the cavalry if you don't check in. If something this crazy still happened then extricate yourself whatever it takes while you still have strength.

No, it didn't it still took 11 hours for him to gather the courage to do it...some people break early some take time but all eventually go through the same phase.
And it still doesn't changes the fact that Aron Ralston was actually stuck for 5 days before he gathered the courage to cut it off.

Not sure what your point is. It is prudent to wait a little bit. The bleeding will be lessened. It also only makes sense not to just start lopping your appendages off unless you are pretty sure no one is going to stumble upon you. Waiting 11 hours makes a lot more sense than waiting 5 days. It is not breaking in any way that I can see. Rather the reverse is true. Waiting that long almost killed him and the story would have been a lot less exciting if he had futzed the rappel and fallen to his death after all that. If instead he had just gotten it over with he would have been in better shape to rescue himself.

X-Men: First Class - a good, solid 7.5/10 for me.

Surprisingly good, considering it was a prequel - although I'm not a comic book afficionado, I had a decent idea how the film would end because of bits of knowledge about the Marvel universe. I'd probably have given the film an 8/10 otherwise.

Good acting, a reasonable enough plot with not too many holes, decent effects. Overall, I enjoyed it quite a bit - much better than I expected!

I loved the movie as well, would've been much better if they had some decent mutants for side characters instead of jokers. Still Michael Fassbender and James McAvoy stole the show.

Also wasn't Alex Summers the younger brother of Scott Summers? What is he doing in the prequel?
