Small recommendation: first read the whole thread, then hit reply if still necessary. ;) (And no, mixing up Vulcan and Romulan when reading a sentence on the internet doesn't necessarily mean missing the whole fundamental reason for why the whole movie actually existed, which in turn has nothing to do with being the prime motivation of Eric Bana's character)

Except he does, he just doesn't care enough for it to be a good one. I'd have admired him a tonne if he'd actually managed to pull off this movie without a plot altogether!

Good movie, but I don't share your enthusiasm. Too much exposition for my tastes, and it tries to be too clever. The arctic scene didn't work for me at all, made me think Nolan has been playing too much Modern Warfare before writing his script. And the ending was too predictable.

Caught Predators too, best movie in that franchise since the 1988 original.

If someone wants a (what good has piracy ever done) argument, this is one
here in NZ, we get blockbuster films/games etc the same day as the US (even a few hours before since we're at the start of the dateline) back in the old days a hit would come out eg jaws/star wars etc but we wouldnt see it until 6 months later

thats like saying yes its a turd, but its the least pungent shite that have been excreted so far. i.e hardly a recommendation.
Im about to go to the cinema + thats one of the choices
also Cemetery Junction http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1196204/ (shudders, by Ricky Gervais that supposed comedian who's conned huge numbers of ppl in to believing hes a genius)

You are missing the point then, the ending is just a mere tease for the audience it doesn't has much to do with the plot,
there's much more to the story than what it appears to be initially.

I am particularly a fan of stories that confuse me & make me think about it again & again

Inception: I expected a bit more from a Nolan movie, but this is movie is still quite amazing. :yep2: I guess, I should figure out how to lower my expectations from movies that I anticipate a lot. :-|

This is the reason why I never watched even a single trailer for the movie or read even a single info about it....hence you can say that I easily got impressed.

The ending has *everything* to do with the plot, with the entire concept of the film. Apparently I'm not the one who missed something.

No, I got the film, I just saw that ending coming from a mile away. Hell, Nolan spent a large amount of the film on exposition so that you couldn't miss it. Too damn much exposition for my taste.

Well, it was a nolan movie, so my expectations would have been high even if I hadn't seen any trailers/reviews/previews... :???:

Inception was A+. Not as good as the first Matrix, but up there.

Its true that there was too much exposition, and a little too much action but then if there wasn't any of that, it would lose most of the public (and hell half of them probably already failed to understand what was going on) also Holywood execs wouldn't provide the budget for the high quality actors and sets, etc

Either way, a real good time.

Powerful scenery mixed with great plot make this movie truly epic. My one complaint is it's slow at times. Otherwise, if you can handle brutal violence, I highly suggest this one.

saw inception on the weekend. 8/10 for me. Good cast and well made. I agree the snow fortress bit was maybe a bit long, or not as well executed as it could have been. I'd like to see it again before I really weigh in on the debate about the ending, but I will say that I think
he was still dreaming at the end. I'm just not exactly sure of how much was a dream. The totem he had was the same as the one he gave to his wife in the dream. When he went back home his kids looked exactly like they had in his flash backs to them. He made several references to catharsis, which is what he gave himself in the end. Did he perform inception on himself when he put that totem into the safe? Was the safe as much his as it was hers? Most likely it was left ambiguous because whether he's dreaming or not dreaming isn't the point of the movie. At the end, I'd say he's let go of his baggage and his paranoia and him not watching the totem is more important than whether it would have fallen or not.
Anyway, I want to see it again, and it's one of those movies I'd like to see with the audio commentary.

I can see some of the comparisons to the Matrix, but I thought Inception was better. The Matrix was great at the time, but when I see it again it's kind of balls.

It was a fun movie. The computer generated effects detracted slightly in that they looked fake a few times, but given the original series I have to say the movie did a very good job capturing the fun and viewpoint of the original.

    Let me guess:

Millions of bullets sprayed around, nobody gets hit?

    and

Explosion goes off behind bad guy, he falls off the top of a building only to land in a big pile of cardboard boxes and stagger away, his lesson learned?

Oh, and about Inception, the fight in the rotating hallway, shown in the trailers, is amazing. The best part is, none of it is faked. They actually choreographed a complex fight in a rotating hallway that was built inside a sound stage. I think I read it was 100 feet long. The result is absolutely awesome.

Saw the Hangover. Pretty enjoyable, although there were a few bits where the movie slowed down and got boring a little too much. For all its crazyness it was close to being just subtle enough.

My wife ran off though, she couldn't stand it. She hates people doing stupid things and embarrassing themselves in public (especially the latter).

Then again, she likes sick and twisted. ;) She likes Fantasy and everything 'up-to' Stephen King (whom I really don't like) in terms of freakishness and horror. We saw Tenderness on Filmnet this weekend, and she really liked that. I must say I enjoyed it too, was pretty good.

From Paris With Love which we also rented pretty much sucked though. It started out promising, but after the first 15-20 minutes it got pretty boring.
