Her hottest role by far is still the first St Trinian's movie.

That last third act clearly has a large chunk lifted out and is the weakest part of the movie. I suspect, once we see the Directors Cut, that we will see put back a sequence which shows Robin being Robin Hood with his Merry Men and nicking King John's taxes. It would explain that somewhat abrupt 'He is an outlaaaawww!' scene in a film that otherwise was very good at providing the connective tissue showing motivation.

Not like this hasn't happened to Ridley before. Kingdom of Heaven had around thirty minutes pulled from it - which I am told improves the film considerably. Gonna settle down to watch that cut tonight....

That makes sense and I agree. It definitely seemed a bit weird near the end like something was missing, but good still overall.

Prince of Persia: The intro goes 'blah blah blah Persia, ruled by noble king etc.' I go "Oh look there's Ming the Merciless, must be the bad guy". unfortunately most of my friends/colleagues didn't get it even though it was right :???:

    Iron Man 2:
Scarlett Johansson arranged a contract consisting of 'I get to wear skintight skirt, cleavage asstight business pants & a leather/PVC catsuit + there will be a gratuitous ass shot of me every 5mins'
Everything else about the movie was pure poop except for the Jobs/Ellison sendup.

Rewatching Flash Gordon (1980): Fuckin' Ace.
Aside from the Michael Keating/Jack Nicholson/Michelle Pfeiffer Batman movies, this is the only comic book movie I can think of thats in any way worth watching.
Flash Gordon is movie greatness in so many ways.
I just hope nobody tries to re-make it anytime soon.

Alexander: Revisited: The Final Cut: Holy shit! The turds that like the PoS '300' should watch this so they can understand how ridiculous 300 was.
Anyone who has seen the other cuts of Alexander should pretend they didn't & watch this version!
This is the real deal, Alexander the pretty gay & Hephaistion movie combined with gritty, bloody '300' ish battle blood & guts + historically accurate armour & fighting style + a bunch of extra little plot points that give a hint/tip of the hat to the personality/backstory of what became his Successors who fought between each other (& their descendants) over his empire for ~250 years before the Parthians & Romans put an end to it.

yes flash gordon 8/10 - I agree one of the best comic book films ever.
300 6/10 - the closest film Ive seen to gay porn
I recently watched - how to train your dragon, though I gave it 8/10 which is very high (my average rating is ~5.4 from the 1000s of films Ive rated), this film pissed me off in that the writers had read
"How to make a kidult cartoon film in 10 easy steps"

You know sometimes you just pick up a movie thinking it'll be just something to pass the time. You don't expect much but in the end you're absolutely amazed.

Defendor (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1303828/ ) I'm giving this a 10/10 although it probably doesn't deserve a score that high, but it completely caught me by surprise with its charm and low budget.

I was expecting some kind of superhero comedy spoof, but instead found a diamond hidden in the rough. Take a look if you get a chance, you might be pleasantly surprised also. Perhaps the most loveable Woody Harrelson character I've yet seen from him. This is the real superhero, the kind that potentially lives inside of all of us.

    Regards,
    SB

I saw Prince of Persia. In all honesty it has to be the best translation of a game into movie I have seen to date in terms of keeping to the spirit of the actual game. The fact that the lead actress was a hotty also didn't hurt (note I hardly ever get into movie actresses so she was something special.)

I give it a game 9/10 which roughly translates into a 6.5-7 in reality.

Just watched A Team and Get Him to the Greek. Pretty funny. A Team was a decent revival

I thought the A-Team got a bit bloated towards the end portion, but overall I thought it was fairly fun. There were some genuinely LOL moments in there.

Was a little disappointed in Get Him to the Greek. I think Brands character wasn't realised as amusingly as it could have been; overall Johan stole the movie.

Edge of Darkness: 1/10 Boring and flat.

Wolfman: 3/10 Good actors can't make sure for a crap or lack of script.

The Men Who Stare at Goats: 6/10. Some funny bits and overall entertaining. No real direction.

Get him to the Greek: 8/10. Fun movie. Good laughs all the way through. A suprising great performance from someone unexpected.

Have you seen the original TV series?

It was very impactful when it was first shown here (much better than the A-Team). I was a teenager at the time. It was the height of the Reagan era with the associated nukapocalyptic fears, unilateral disarmament movement and so on.

A little bit of the teenager in me died when I saw that Mel "That F**king Mel F**king Gibson" Gibson was leading in the re-make. Can't you guys just ban him, or something? He needs to stop it.

    The A-Team.

I went in with 10 friends expecting a generic action movie filled with cheesy & lame one liners & stupid explosions everywhere....I got an awesome movie with tons of (intentional) humor & great over the top sequences. The old action movie fan inside me is now a believer !

The strongest point of the movie is no doubt the casting, it was simply perfect imo.

In the original TV series, good guy was English and the bad guy was the American.

One Mel Gibson re-make later and, voila, roles are reversed!

Personally, I can't wait until Gibson makes a World War II film in which Winston Churchill leads the British on an invasion of Poland to start the war...

Toy story 3: 10/10. Pixars best work yet. What an awesome film from start to finish. Way to end the series. Easily the best movie I've seen this year.

I would tend to agree. Just saw it yesterday with the kids and I think I enjoyed it more than anyone else. Really powerful ending, that scene was such a wonderful denouement of childhood's end that I about got choked up a little.

Star Trek: 7/10. I liked the introduction of most of the big characters and some of them were very well acted (not the bad-guys though). I HATE ff-ing time travel. It should be made illegal to travel anywhere but forward in time. This, for me, brought an already somewhat staggering storyline to its knees. The hoops they made the story jump through to get Nimoy into the script were aweful. When I'd watched it, it felt like a waste of time and I wished I had watched the World Championship match instead, but because I watched it again for a bit yesterday I did realise that the character introductions and some of the acting was in fact pretty good stuff.

It also made me realise that I'm mentally ready for a good space game. Maybe I'll try Mass Effect 2 someday.

Well the time travel in the movie isn't just time travel into future, its into an alternate dimension as well.

Only in so far as it created a new time-line. I hate that concept sooo much. Blech.

I saw it a couple of days ago, 8/10 great film but so cliched like (how to train your dragon(*) also 8/10) that both came from the same book "how to make an 21st century animated film in 5 easy steps". Im not knocking both films since 8/10 is a very high mark from me. But please pixar take a bit of chance next time, Ive seen (nearly) all your films and 8/10 is the best youve rated!!

(*)just in case yes I know its not pixar, but its a pixar clone

just check ive seen all pixar films except "up"
