More on the FF issue for PS3 from 1UP/Sony

what?
they said they got that quote directly from Sony of America.

why would you call it a "creation"
The conclsuion with which they head the article is their creation - No FF for PS3. It was proven wrong by the existence of FF games on PS3 before that article even went out!. It's another case of crap journalism, misunderstanding and not making any effort to check the realities of the situation. Whether that's because they want to report Sony negativities or just can't be assed to do the job of journalist properly, who knows?

The SCEA quote is:
"All PS3 games are programmed for the SIXAXIS which doesn't have force feedback, therefore the force feedback in the wheels won't be recognized."

Their conclusion after reading the forum post is:
"Force Feedback (an Immersion-patented tech [the rumble guys, remember]) would not function on Sony's PS3"

These driving wheel tests show that the developers can program to separate API. Is it difficult to plug in a FF wheel to the PS3 to verify ?

I'm just saying 1UP has been consistently wrong about PS3 for a long while now (They wrote the articles, didn't they ?).

fair enough

Who says anything about consipracy ?

So this is another 1UP creation ? And they get paid for shoddy work like this ? They seem to have a target of 1 every week. :yep2:
Its almost as if some people are getting paid to spread the negativity
;)

Nice try putting together a conspiracy theory. Let me repeat, I complained that 1UP seems to have a target of making 1 inaccurate PS3 article a week. It may be shoddy work, or generally a negative attitude that affects their ability to work.

BTW, if you want to get into consipracy theories (I suggest not), just know that the media can be influenced. Doesn't necessarily need a secret group, an alliance or a plot, just individual people/company getting used by the vendor (or agency) -- via presentations, relationships and/or value exchange. These may not be disclosed fully. For recent examples, see http://arstechnica.com/news.ars/post/20061228-8514.html and http://games.slashdot.org/games/06/12/12/1411200.shtml.

I don't know if MS does it for Xbox 360, but if they do, they are not the only one and certainly not the last one. I generally frown on these moves, but it's hard to draw the line sometimes.

Anyways, this thread is about FF feedback on a B3D forum. We may want to take the conspiracy discussion somewhere else. I am not really keen to discuss something that should not be exemplified here. :)

G25

So does anyone actually have one?? I have the DFP, but notice the G25 has a six speed shifter..... Usually I drive Auto in games because I don't care too much for the sequential shifter..... After seeing the G25 in action I now am jonesing for one...

Friend of mine has one. I haven't tried it, but he's extatic about it (like me, he's owned all sorts of different wheels before and he's also built his own cockpit, so he's fairly serious about these things). I hope to go over there and try it sometime soon.

Yeah I am on GTplanet now looking to see if I can get the petal and shifter to work with my dfp wheel.... I am sure my wife would love to hear that I got a 300 dollar steering wheel for a system/game that I don't even have (GT5 + PS3)...

I think the no FF/Rumble for PS# is only in NA. japan and Europe are not limited by the US courts injunction so in those places you see the feature in use. No I don't have a link but it seems like the logical answer.
