LA Times reports X360 pricing (accurate?)

Doesn't make sense to put out a wired accessory controller, if the wireless were to come as a standard and you can wire the wireless controller anyway with a accessory wire.

what a wired controller is to many accessorys ?

Um

for just the wireless controller u have to buy the battery pack (the controller runs on double a's u have to buy the pack) the cord to recharge , a circle with 4 slots for 4 packs to recharge and head sets for live .

Then u have , camera , wheel , keyboard , mouse , wifi adapter .

All expensive .

Which another thing is why isn't that bundled in the 400$ one

No, I meant if the wireless really would be the controller that is sold with every xbox360, why would they sell another wired controller if the wireless controller can be made wired with the "accessory charging cable" or whatever.

Who's going to make the "big announcement" in Leipzig then? There must be some MS spokesperson on location if the annoiuncement is really a big one... or must there?

Microsoft also would not provide specific pricing information about the Xbox 360, but Piper Jaffray expects Microsoft will make one unit available at $299, and another unit near $399, with the more expensive unit including "additional hardware components (e.g., hard-drive option, extra controller, memory option) that core users will likely buy anyway."

Looks like the latimes got it from the anyalst .

This was posted on the 5th and its exactly what the la times is reporting .

Oh. I dunno . I personaly thought they would include the wireless ones (As they said it was standard ) and then u can buy the cheaper wired ones after thtat if u want .

I'm going to assume that wireless + charger wire is more than a wired controller

As for who is going to make the announcment . No friggen clue . I'm guess its really just big for that market . Mabye a game or showing off pdz or something

I tihnk that this is hard to belive, the 300 version would kill thae changes of Live (no headset, Ethernet cable), and their changes to get a big, big, big proffit from marketplace (no HDD), or even the change to update Live (or games).

If that is true the greatest weapon of XB would be ruinend. Although I belive there could be multiple versions not that way, because this way a person to uses want they have would need to pay at least more 100 in HW + Live per year and IMO very few people will do that.

I will wait till official anuncemment.

GC 2005: Xbox 360 Pricing Revealed
Microsoft drops the bill at the German Games Convention.
by Tal Blevins

August 17, 2005 - Today at the Games Convention in Leipzig, Germany, Microsoft unveiled the price of their upcoming next-generation system.

The new 'box will come in two flavors, a core and a fully-loaded model, and will carry two separate price points. The Xbox 360 core system -- priced at $299.99 in the United States, ?299.99 in Europe and £209.99 in the U.K. -- will come with the console, a wired controller, faceplate, standard audio-visual cable and an Xbox Live Silver membership. An Xbox Live Silver membership allows you to create a user id, download game content, access the Xbox 360 marketplace and gives Live users the ability to chat with friends. It does not, however, allow users to play games online. To do this, Silver members must upgrade to a Gold membership.

The Xbox 360 fully-loaded system -- priced at $399.99 in the United States, ?399.99 in Europe and £279.99 in the U.K. -- will come complete with the console, a wireless controller, a 20GB detachable hard drive, a faceplate, headset, component HD audio-visual cables, an Ethernet cable, Xbox Live Silver membership and, for a limited time, an Xbox 360 media remote.

The Xbox 360 will launch in North America, Europe and Japan this holiday season. Expect to hear more about the Japanese launch and pricing at the upcoming Tokyo Game Show, which takes place in mid-September

I feel like I have been lied to....

Wasn't wireless controller one of the main design points that MS told us during E3?
And why pay licence fees to NVidia for compatibility with the older XBOX titles for every XBOX sold, when the "core packed" XBOX360 wouldn't be compatible with the XBOX games because of no HDD inclusion?

I don't mind if MS tries a new strategy, but I don't think they will get a big userbase by lying to the customers who are excited about their to be released product and tell other people about it. Nice way to alienate the fans.

I wanna see someone do a video-edit of E3 and MS earlier interviews with the words "LIER" over the screen. :) Like in a "Running Man" movie.

Ok, I will go meditate now ... or take a cold shower.
