So today at our local gamestop we got a shipment of 20 psps but we have 20 sitting on our shelves . I later went to pick up my cousin the new teen titans figures at toysrus and was told that they had 80 in stock and they haven't really been selling at all according to the head of rzone for this disctrict .

However best buy only had 5 in stock .

Do you guys think the price is affecting its sales that much ?

How are we suppose to answer this actual question without using anecdotical BS such as "Random Store, here in my Random Town, has 12 PSP on its shelves, therefore the PSP is not selling well"
Or the positive BS "Random Store, here in my Random Town, has 2 PSP on its shelves, therefore the PSP is selling well"

Commenting sales without any factual, of large scale, datas is futile

The only only thing thoses kind of discussion usually show is people's own bias.

Teen Titans is pure Anime-Wanabe crap. One of the worst cartoon the Warner produced this past years...
You shouldn't buy crap to your little cousin. That's a bad thing to do, man. :p

Argh, it drives me nuts when people spell "losing" as "loosing".

Anyway, I agree with the post above mine. And it's way to early in the game to be saying it's going one way or another.

I'd be interested in seeing some more Japanese sales figures on DS vs PSP.

be happy, EU still has to wait 4 months with a pricetag of 325$

i'm sure the price is affecting it

Totally the price.
Here in the UK, i'm sure it's goona be QUITE late, if not TOO late.
I probably won't get one now for a long time. Xbox2 might be out within a few months of PSP release here in the UK so what's the point.
Don't know, personally i'm just disappointed. Not because i won't get one, cause it's very easy for me to import one, but because in general, this delay is not good for PSP.
And because, when you thought that things were getting better on the Europe delays crap, things like this happen.

Just so you know, Tekken5 still hasn't been released, nor has God of War. It's just another blow for European gamers, and to be honest i'm too old to care now, if these people don't want my money, they won't have it.

First off . Its the comic figures not the anime .

Second of all even though geoff johns is writing it (he is a hack.. look what he did to kyle :( ) its still not bad and at least my little cousin is reading .

As for random store . I can tell you all the gamestops in bergen county (we are the biggest county in jersey in terms of sales ) have at 10 + systems . I know as i had my friend check the computers .

I wonder what the numbers will show when they came out

AARRRGGGHH!!!!! He's not reading!!! He's looking at the pretty pics then "reading" that they say! That's not reading. He's not using his imagination, everything is there for him to see. The point of reading (and how it's good for your brain) is that reading a book, you brain goes on overdrive visualising what you're reading, without images.

Unless he's younger than 7, i'd rather buy him a book, it's much better for him than bloody comics. Or videogames. Or TV. Or going out.

That's how i'd educate my son! No, seriosuly, get the boy a freaking book, there are thousands of "easy to read" books, he'll love it and it's just a gazillion times better than anything else for his little brain, especially at his age.

Sorry, my bad, I don't know the comic therefore I won't judge it.
But, damn, the TV-Show is a steaming piece of crap. :D

Code:
System Sales this week	Total this year
PlayStation 2 30,572	755,273
PlayStation Portable	28,950	724,872
Nintendo DS 21,698	579,119
http://www.the-magicbox.com/topten.htm

this is the first week in a few where the psp is outselling the ds. the ds got a pretty big boust from the release of the colored models, and IIRC the two new colors came out this week.

in the US, price is definatly affecting sales. i was in my local ElBo yesterday and litteraly wrached this guy see the PSP box, get the glazed over *must buy* look on his face, notice the price, said "two hundred and fift....", then laughed pretty loud. i know, it's a random BS guy in a random BS town.

The pink and blue(?) DS systems along with Nintendogs and Naruto were released on the 21st. So we won't see their effect until the next set of numbers in a day or two.

The Nintendogs game will greatly have an impact on the numbers for DS sales. I could see many people playing it--much like the effect of the Tamagutchi; where many will buy them. Seeing that Famitsu just gave the game a nice review in Japan. Even in NA/EU/AU I think it will be a system seller just for this game.

Aside: I was surprised to see Walmart bundling the DS with MARIO 64 for $199CDN and see SPRUNG for $9.89CDN!

Interesting upcoming weeks for DS indeed.

If anything it just needs some new interesting games to launch.

Look at the varying colors of the DS in Japan, that likely spurned a whole bunch of new sales as I'm sure Nintendogs will. Before these happened the DS was in a slide.

Quite impressive number of total units, both for DS and PSP, considering the price of the latter.
With the 1st Sept release date announcement, I'm all pissed off with Sony now, not gonna get a PSP. Instead i'll get either a HDTV or a new monitor. Or just an Xbox2.

It is not that they didn't want to launch PSP at the earliest in EU but maybe they have some good reason to postpone it, what if PSP is launched at 150 pounds/euro? ;)

It BETTER be released at UK£150 (which is 285USD, already higher than the current USD price) or less!!!

You probably wont be getting an Xbox2 this year either. :( If they continue to launch in the UK after the US anyways as most console launches do.

I'll just kill myself in the name of PAL release, so that all you PAL gamers will be liberated.
