Image Quality and Framebuffer Speculations for WIP/alpha/beta/E3 games *Read the first post*

I'm pretty sad my fears about Dragon age Origins seems to have come true...
From captures I noticed that on the 360 rendition textures was not filtered and that bump/normal mapping was lacking. Somebody pointed me to the gamespot review, here the relevant part:
On the flip side, the Xbox 360 version looks positively disappointing. Textures are highly compressed and colors are washed out, though the upside is that this version maintains a smoother frame rate than on the PlayStation 3, where things might get jittery when swiveling the camera around. The PlayStation 3 version features higher-quality textures than those on the Xbox 360, better color saturation, smoother facial animations, and shorter load times. Minor visual hiccups, like corpses that disappear and reappear, are a bit more common on the PS3, however. The PC version is the superior experience, but if you're choosing between the two console releases, the PlayStation 3 has the upper hand.

If some persons want to check screenshots can be find here:

The 360 rendition got a 8.5 the ps3 a 9 but it seems well deserved the texturing on the 360 is really ugly... it's as obvious as the nose in the middle of the face...

From that quote, sounds like framerate is taking a rather large hit however if the screen is stuttering a bit just from moving the camera around on PS3. This being an RPG however, it shouldn't be that big a deal unless it happens most of the time when moving the camera manually.

What about L4D2? I payed it today and it looks low rez and is very jaggie. I also notice L4D not on the list, what was it?

I've just watched this comparision and it somehow reassured me, on the 360 the game looks smooth, some texture seems to have take a hit (unclear in the vid but easier to spot in proper screenshots), I suspect some extra effects on the 360.
Waiting for DF or others comparision Gametrailer vids are a bit too shitty imho.

Well got the game on 360, and is got real pleasant visuals, technically textures of clothes are low res (is not ME qualities ;) ) and AF is not good, but on other hand the Aliasing is not very present, don't think that AA are more than x2, but the game design and probably some post-effect like a grain filter (and one other think around people?) made a very good work for this.

On the last image you can see jaggies on his suit (black on white) and the cloth hanger pole.

Split/Second trailer. This game looks amazing. Maybe a little too amazing, are these graphics "real"?
I don't know but BlackRock work on Pure was impressive imho. Too bad I think that the lack of local/splitscreen multi player option cost them quiet some sales.

There is something a little weird with those star ocean shots. The 2d elements are rough but the but the 3d are smooth as glass.

Maybe but it wouldn't take that much effort to re-render them in the ridiculously high resolution. Though I guess it could be a marketing ploy to show you flaws so everyone goes wow the game will really look like this see can see jaggies.
