Image Quality and Framebuffer Speculations for WIP/alpha/beta/E3 games *Read the first post*

There would still be scaling because they aren't rendering to 1360 width. It's really back to the same discussion surrounding Soul Calibur IV though...

I said "seems to be from the 360 build"

which means i wasn't able to confirm it....and i still can't.

i can say that the Scene at 02:17 in the Eng version does play a lot smother than in the jap version.:yep2:

it's even got some sort of distance fog too.

though my question is why did they have to re-do a lot of the cut scenes with edited button layouts?
There's some odd colour differences in these shots that make it stand out from the others. The english version seems washed out by comparison.

The colors in both videos are different all around from CG cut-scenes to gameplay. The Japanese PS3 video also appears to be sharper. I would not say that the videos are of the same quality encoding wise so I stuck only with things that might actually indicate that there are differences between game versions. I saw other things in there that I'm not sure about like seeing the same enemy do the same attack, in the one we know to be the PS3 version the monster glows white during the attack in the international version there seems to be motion blur there instead but in an RPG like this there can be many veribles why the attack didn't look the same so I left it out I will upload another attack I captured when I get the chance.

Did the smoke in ps360's analysis cause the same error? He has the PS3 version with a higher min. framerate in both videos.

Judging by comparison screens, they both look very similar to me. I don't see less detail in the PS3 version.

The texture detail is slightly lower on certain things. Only particularly noticeable in close-up shots on characters. Let's keep the particular IQ discussion to the other thread though...

Okay yeah, I A-B'd the gameswire shots instead of viewing them stacked or split and the PS3 version seems to have slightly lower texture detail. Don't think it's QAA though; looks like no AA for both.

The particular image appears to be 1920x1200 with an edge blur. Where their "edge-detect" algorithm fails, you can see 1:1 pixel per step in both dimensions. The blurring itself is also consistently two shades equal in length as the step it is blurring.

Yeah, I just looked at it again and above the res options there's 1920x1200. Must have missed that. I guess IGN mixes their PC/360 screens together - makes me wonder why they're not using real AA in that case. I'll have to find an actual 360 shot.

The tearing is insane in the PS3 build, even in small environments, and even in vids, the 360 version's IQ is definitely better. Poor texture filtering and reduced resolution perhaps?

It's likely 720p like Alstrong said. It might not only be texture filtering the PS3 textures just might be of lower quality. Don't import this game. Just wait for the western release. You should end up with a much better version if the rumors are true.

So I heard from someone at Neogaf. I didn't like the demo but I'm curious if Sega can get it running on par with the original code by the western release.

The cutscene frame rate aside, the port is more than playable but the tearing is quite bad.

just got back from playing the xbox 360 version of bayonetta. the entire demo is in english :p

anyways its a ton of fun but it does have some occasional tearing and no AA. tearing only seems to occur during in-combat cut scenes since the game is trying to maintain 60fps. the full out cut-scenes with model switching are locked at 30fps and i didnt perceive any tearing during those scenes.

I found bayonetta on the ps3 at 720p with really better sharpness...I never understand the choise to set 1080p how setup resolution ... this & ngs 2 too, same bizarre setting :???:

it looks like someone already got to making a comparison on the two games.

not very many shots though, kinda feels a little like someone took them from footage.

That second shot points to much better texture filtering in the 360 version, the cobbles in the distance and the stone wall in the foreground are two areas that really stick out. I'm usually disappointed with the level of texture filtering in 360 games so its nice to see.

Something like 4xaf?
