playing gears right now
it's wierd, some cut-scenes look antialiased to me, while others not
in game is noAA but the jaggies are not an issue, just like the beta
 
ya thats what I want to know, both of the previous gears game has a fair amount of pre recorded fmv scene that were rendered at a much higher quality.

Nah... Those scenes were CG featuring scenes not possible in realtime. You could easily tell them apart with the compression artifacts.
 
Image 15, oh man, like a return to PSX/N64 era :D

N64 popped into my mind watching the 360 beta videos in a few spots as well...some textures are really bad. And people ripped Crysis 2's graphics...

And too be fair PC version is not much better

Can anyone explain me what is it the meter/logic to judge an engine in an online multiplayer session, tech wise? Because I'm really astonished to read some comment...
 
Who knows if they even included the highest resolution textures. It's just a beta test. I imagine they'll be gathering computer stats as well to get a better idea of their players' systems.
 
some spots look lesser than BF-BC1's graphics. The engine could be in the midle of fishing for textures; or fishing for textures that were somehow not included in the beta.

Either way to me it seems more like a devoper "oopsy" than any harware impairment. it still is a beta you know.
