Yeah, there's sharpening even in the sp to counter the blurring from the taa (every taa implementation we've seen so far blurs the image a bit). I find it to be okay in sp specifically but it's a lot stronger in the mp.

They can probably get away with no sharpening at 1080p tho, but on another hand I never really noticed the black outline till zoomed in as of now so it works for me.

Can somebody explain to me how "sharpening" would create random black pixels like that? Doesn't make any sense to me. Almost seems like maybe it's not sharpening, but some other issue, like bad alpha blending.

I'm not familiar with how a sharpening filter works (other than spotting how it looks) but you can notice the exact same thing in Witcher 3 (comparison by nvidia):http://international.download.nvidi...ing-interactive-comparison-2-high-vs-off.html

You can also see what excessive sharpening does to the image here

Okay so it's taking edges that are already somewhat high contrast, and increasing the darkness of the dark pixels on those edges. This does have the effect of making edges sharper, without the typical halo effect, but it also has the effects of making everything look a tiny bit cell shaded, and overall darker. I think that's a terrible effect and there's really no reason for it.

I think it has odd result in some cases.

That's an old build, E3 I think, it was their temporal AA artifacting, they have 99% completely removed the blur and artifacting by now based on the beta and new footage. The motion blur usage also looks superb now.

We need to wait final build since E3 many things improved and it was visible in beta and last footage.

I'm having to make a Xbox One resolution database post part 2 because Part 1 hit the 10,000 character limit.

    Part 1 here: https://forum.beyond3d.com/threads/...ad-the-first-post.44653/page-101#post-1251571

Part 2 starts ~April 2016 with Quantum Break.

Is there an actual list somewhere? I liked the old list of all the PS3/360 resolutions, but as far as I was aware, this was just a discussion of people figuring those things out game by game. I haven't seen another list anywhere.

Umm, yeah it's in my sig? At least the one I'm trying to keep.

I tried to source everything since a certain date with a link but before then just trust they all are valid (or just google game name+1080P/720P etc would do it)

As I just mentioned, the 1st post wouldn't let me edit it anymore because it hit 10,000 characters apparently, so I just started a "part 2".

Oh and it's just for Xbox One cus that's what I'm interested in and where most of the res shenanigans go down. I was keeping track of a small list of sub-1080 stuff on PS4 as well, but I cant remember if I've been keeping it up to date. But the Xbox One stuff should be good.

oh weird for some reason if I just click on it, it just goes to a different post in this thread, but if I right click and open in incognito, it goes to the list. Not sure what's going on there.

Even looking at the hands and coach between them.. It's way too clean overall. It's most probably a pre-rendered cutscene.

The game doesn't have pre-rendered cutscenes.

In that case it's probably a new form of AA! Elena's arm which is holding her fork looks like 4-8X MSAA which doesn't seem likely.

Super exited for May 10 now!!

It's using a TAA solution, improving the AA over time. That's why some areas are high AA and some low.
