Huxley demo. We finally have hair!!!

The game sounds fun. I just hope it doesn't become like planetside. That game went down the tubes quickly

I don't think that .

However i do think

1) twimtp help devs esp smaller devs develop the games and helps them with hardware problems

2) huxely is on the unreal 3 engine so most likely alot of twimtp work has been put into the engine so it be stupid for huxely not to jump on

3) nvidia will help promote the game if its twimtp

4) i'm sure epic likes it

There is a reason why the PS3 is not getting a number of games that the XBox360 and even the PC is going to get. Is it possible that the Playstation 3 is not as strong as people think in certain critical areas in regards to games? Sure the GPU in the PS3 should be more than powerful enough to do games like TES4:Oblivion or Huxely... but the CPU may not necessarly be as strong as people think. The Cell CPU itself has a lot of floating point power... except two problems. It is hard to get to that power and the processor itself is very weak in everything else except floating point heavy streaming type applications... and guess what... games are not exactly floating point intensive and they are not streaming applications (unless you are talking about a FMV CGI game of course  ).

Really... the Cell CPU is not some magical processor that can do everything perfectly. The RSX on the other hand is impressive (providing of course it is the Geforce 7800GTX) and a lot more impressive than the Cell CPU. XENOS may be more impressive and may have the better technology and will likely provide the best performance and flexibility for the games that run on it, but the RSX is the best thing to happen to the PS3, especially considering the alternative.

I will say it again... and this is especially true in regards to a GAMING system... the system that will produce the best graphics will be the system that has the best GPU, not who has the best CPU (contrary to Ken K's fixation on the Cell). I would also like to say that you will not get next generation graphics with a previous generation graphics processor architecture... it will require a new graphics architecture and that is what XENOS is going to deliver.

Game master with the games in question i really think it comes down to the hardrive. These are all mmorpgs

Is that you Peter Moore?

Where did I say I saw a game with hair like that demo? Just because I've never seen somebody do a handstand while scratchin their ass doesn't mean I'd be impressed if/when I see it...
How can you not be impressed by realistic hair, something almost every living object has. That's one of the biggest leaps between cgi and real-time output to me. I certainly hope we'll get realistic hair this gen.

Maybe because that hair is more like astroturf? The guy has a buzz haircut not to mention the video I saw wasn't very clear or high quality at all.

Hmm, I kind of agree. I was impressed the first time I watched it, but after I've rewatched it a few times it looks like they just wrapped a piece of reflective copper around his head. There isn't much hair to speak of. Making things shiny doesn't make them look more realistic. The GS clip is rather low-res though. Perhaps in high-res it really shines (no pun intended ;)).

Webzen has a bunch of MMORPGs in development, although I think Huxley is the only one as of now that's comming to consoles. But check this one out from a game called Wiki, hehe;

Celda MMORPG? :)

Haha! That's right, I forgot about this one... this was the game Nintendo sued them over because there was a character that looked like link in WW before he puts on the green clothes. The courts found in favor of webzen.

By the by, I don't blame Nintendo for the suit because the character design is blatanlty similar to Nintendo's cell shaded design. Still not a straight rip-off, but I definately see the resemblence.

how is this relevant at all to Huxley? :|

APB is coming to X360. Its the online gta-like game by the gta (2d) creator MS just inked a deal with.

Am I the only one who thinks the PS3 might come with a memorycard/stick of some kind?

I dunno . It may come with a 16 meg or 32 meg memory stick .

However this wont help with a mmorpg .

In mmorpgs its not uncommon to have 80 or 90 meg patches and right now 256- 512 meg cards seem to be the sweet spot for purchases . Even a 1gig which will most likely be the sweet spot in 2007 for purchase (i'm talking going into best buy and picking one up for 50 with no rebates or anything ) will not really be enough. I'm sure with in the first year huxely will be close to a gig of patches and content upgrades . That is roughly what eq2 was at 6 months down the line

Which is why Tomb Raider:AoD and Far Cry were flawless at launch on NV hardware. No, wait... :?

well come on , its the nv30 we are talking about at that point . It was most likely nvidia's own optimizations screwing up the games

I'm new here. What is TWIMTBP?

The way its meant to be played . Its nvidia's advertising program and dev support group .

Its like ati's Get in the game !

Basicly you put nvidia's logo or ati's logo on your box , in your game (when its loading up and what not ) say its the perfered grahpics card , and in return you get some advertising help from said company , you get development support from said company and most likely hardware to help u develop .

Farcry was a twimtp title. However at the time the nv30 sucked alot . So the 9700pro still ran the game much better . However when nvidia put out the nv40 a few months later farcry put out a sm 3.0 patch specificly for nvidia .

Later we found out things like g.i is doable in all r3x0 + cards so that feature was also made to work on the ati cards .

Basicly expect alot of xbox 360 games to come out with ati as the perfered card and alot of ps3 games to come out on the pc with twimtp program .

It would be interesting to see what epic does with gow . Since they have been big fans of nividia .
