Homosexual Hypocrisy

Well, here in the UK, 'Fruitcake' certainly means someone who is a bit crackers i.e. eccentric, odd, mad professor type. Can't say it is ever really used as a gay insult.

Now, if he'd called him an "uphill gardener" on the other hand... :p

i cant believe i never heard of any of those "insults"............ :?

Well you guys say wierd shit like 'poof' and 'shirt lifter'

'poof' is one of the most non-threatening words ever, don't know how that found its way into UK slang :p

It is hypocrisy, obviously if he was a republican he would have been crucified. Clinton was largely spared by feminists for instance, even though they would have destroyed any republican guilty of the same thing.

But thats politics. Republicans are guilty of it nearly (but not quite) as much. Jerry Falwell anyone? How about all the R putzes who Larry Flint exposed during the aforementioned Clinton scandal.

IMO, the bar is set way too high on the so called 'moral' standards that our politicians have to be held too. From little things like smoking pot a few times in college, to their sexual lives, to their choice in humor, etc etc I find it silly.

To be honest, I can think of dozens of phrases which are used to describe homosexuals.

Most of them are used in a humorous rather than aggressive manner. The people who are really homophobic don't tend to have the wit to think of anything clever or amusing.

My sister has just returned to the UK from Finland and she assures me that one Finnish term for Male homosexuals translates as "Knights of the Brown Hole". Now, to me, that's amusing and not abusive. Similarly, "Sausage Jockey" and "Fudge Packer" are other terms you hear in the UK, generally used in jest. I had a couple of gay friends and University and none of them took any offence to such jokes.

Oddly enough, I can't think of many such amusing terms for Lesbians - they are nearly all for male homosexuals. "Wearer of comfortable shoes" is one, I suppose.
