Heavy Rain [PS3]

I am amazed by people who could complete the
[Double Protection Spoiler Tag for your own good :p]
electric tower
trial. The game flunked me after 3 failed attempts and forced me to go through the "Coward" door.

I couldn't do it either, although doesn't seem like it mattered overall. I had the same problem where I wasn't sure if for the last step I needed to hold the button or press it repeatedly. On a side note, I was looking through all the unlocked concept art and damn, some of them are gorgeous! Almost wish I could get a couple of those as paintings. The fake casting video is awesome as well.

Well ok, she didn't really save the day per se since my kid in HR died. *sniff* *sniff*
But she took care of herself and other errands
.

Phhhhhppt, not like Sicilians vs Italians right ? :devilish:

Anyway, always love to hear developers acknowledging each others' work:

Despite the differences of the games (and the rival exclusivity), Rautalahti most definitely recommends Heavy Rain: "But while we’re on the topic, I have to say that I loved Heavy Rain. It's a great experience, and I think anybody who hasn’t played it should play it, if only because it does things in its own way without compromises or excuses, and that's always a welcome change of pace in this industry."

So how is the DLC, worth getting?

I found it quite a bit more interesting than the scenes in the regular game as the gameplay is a lot more interactive. It's almost like a next gen Clock Tower game since the bad guy actually searches the house for you in real time, not just in a cut-scene. The branching QTE is amazing as well. The whole thing is criminally short, though. 15 minutes if you take your time, about an hour if you want to see all possible outcomes. It was part of the limited edition, not sure if I'd be willing to spend the money on what is essentially a tech demo. If it's 5 bucks I'd say get it.

Not sure how to do a spoiler - so...don't read this bit if you don't want to talk about the blackouts:

I thought the blackouts were probably just down to stress or something and (retrospectively) the origami left in his hand by Scott (who had been watching him for some time).

Same as above - not sure about spoilers - so don't read if you don't want to know my ending (or talk about it):

At the end only Ethan died for me. I can't quite figure out why...I drank the poisen - maybe that's why (as in if I played through again and didn't drink the poisen I'd get a different ending?)

I shall now wait until Move comes out and replay this - probably go for the plat

^ About the origamis
well I did went through this thought, but I don't think it was scott leaving an origami in his hand after each blackout.
Case in point if you fail to save Shaun Mars you have Ethan killing himself in prison or in an apartment..depending on case, but the thing to notice is that in both cases he has multiple number of origami figures lying all around his cell/room.

This suggests that it was Ethan himself who used to make the origamis...but how ?
The game tells you that Ethan never learned to create one. or did he simply forgot that he could make origami figures.

LOL, maybe they will release a 'directors cut' and in that version Ethan will make origami with Jason - see how I just fixed the plot hole in a simple 3 button press!? ;)

I can't remember exactly but he either mentions it in his thoughts or mentions it while the appointment with his doctor.

Dedicated to the fans of Heavy Rain:

EDIT: I should get my wife to play this segment in Heavy Rain. I'm pretty sure she'd cry in the closing scene. :devilish:
Funny thing, when I gave the game to my mother and stayed with her to help her through combat parts
it took her zero hesitation to chop off the finger, kill the father of two daughters, and drink the poison
, those things took me forever,
and I never killed the father-drug dealer guy

Talk about parenting instinct
