Heavenly Sword (wow)

I loooove me some Heavenly Sword. The basis of the story is brillant. It honestly could be a good movie if you ask me. The king's facial features when he yells is on of the big things that next-gen is suppose to give us.

Thank you Ninja Theory. Now just let us play a downloaded demo at launch and I'll be super happy. ;)

Yeah! He probably has the best facial expressions I ve ever seen! Even the way his eyes move! His "acting" is the exact same you would expect to see on a real human actor! The attention to detail is amazing on him

And it's all real-time. That's the great thing about it. DeanoC I'm dying to play your game man. DYING!!!!! Please give me a demo when I buy my PS3 this year.

I am sooo looking forward to this game - it's just oozes class :D

Well done DeanoC and the rest of the team - nice to have some superstar game devs in the UK

Yeah the human nunchuck move is that in the game? Oh and is the "throw the sword and pin the enemy to a wall" move in the game too?
Nunchucks is currently in, but is still being tuned as its a tricky one to get feeling right but wall pin isn't in AFAIK (largely due to a lack of walls to pin people to in some parts of the game...)

Well... can't the body just orbit the Earth then ? :devilish:

DeanoC,

I hope that you are shooting for an M rating and the game will have the gore and blood upgrade that was rumored a while back. All I can say is that in a game with a super-powered woman who can throw grown men around like stuffed teddy bears her sword (unless it's made of foam rubber) should be doing some serious SLICING, DICING, and IMPALING.

If that's not the case what is the explanation for how someone can be hit by a large sword (since it's from the gods I would hope they know how to sharpen a sword) by a woman with the strength of ten men and not be sliced to pieces with limbs falling off?

Oddly it would never have got past US censors either (at the rating we are aiming for), they don't like impalement/skewing...

It's ok. I don't think people want NT to render outer space too. ;)

EDIT:
Ok, I see it again. Do people really want to see gore in HS ? (I am just curious. I prefer not to but it seems that many people want it and I wonder why)

If they are indeed aiming for a certain rating and the are concerned that maybe some things will be liked by the reviewers I guess they are not going for an M rating...

More realistic that way and that would help HS sales wise, mainstream crowd loves gore

I want blood in the game and gore, because thats life. That's realism. This is next-gen. We have the processing power to allow things in the game to occur as if it was in real-life. If you have a super powerful and super strong woman swinging a massive sword around someone is obviously going to be chopped in half. If she throws her sword at someone it should stab them and an appropriate ammount of blood should come out. Or if a bad guy doesn't have a helmet on and she swings something heavy enough at them their skull should be crushed.

If I play Heavenly Sword and hit someone with my sword just to see them bounce back with no blood, no damage, and no sign of at least a severe cut (or a severed limb depending where I striked them at) I will be disapointed.

If every game were going for that level of "realism" then there would be no ratings system, all games would be mature/adult rated. Unfortunately for some people (and fortunately by others), games don't operate that way.
