Heavenly Sword (wow)

HS doesn't need the blood and gore.

Well, it doesn't need it, but at least a little bit of blood here and there would make it look a little bit more realistic. I'm not talking about Mortal Kombat levels of blood, but at the same time, a game where i slay big men with huge swords, without seeing even a drop of blood, looks weird.

What would be really cool for the future, is if games would link their gore settings to the parental levels specified in the Game OS.

Absolutely. I don't see what's wrong in putting gore in the game. I think even Final Fantasy games have "some" blood here and there... i think? Unless i'm imagining things.

Seriously, if I'm playing Heavenly sword and she has just thrown someone thirty feet at a wall, but then slashes someone without AT LEAST cutting a DEEP WOUND I'm going to be very disapointed. Is this Heaven Sword or Heavenly Foam Movie Prop?

I mean, it can even be black! Or green!! As long as something comes out!! Just not white or people will be asking questions...

Wow, this game is really a special-case, isn't it? it looks like it might be the most beautifully-animated game ever. Kudos, NT guys! :D Anyway, some ppl need to get off Deano's back. He's being nice and sharing with us, and his other friends here. But he probably doesn't have total control over whether the game is an "M" rating and gory, nor whether every animation they've ever toyed with makes it to the final game, nor even how much information he's allowed to give us. I have my questions for the man, too, but when dealing directly with the guy I have to be a little polite, damn! Were y'all raised in a barn!? I think when you think about fighting 100 people at a time, a relatively simplistic hit detection system makes sense. As long as they can make it look plausible, we really don't care -- we want our most improbable moves to succeed -- their main challenges should be balancing the moves so that each one actually serves a purpose. It's not a fighting game, from what I can tell. I thinkof it as the state-of-the-art Golden Axe, or Dynasty Warriors +1,000 or so animations, or what have you. Thanks again for the info, Deano, and awesome-looking title! Keep it coming! :D

PS oh, i do have one nitpick, tho! Chrome Nazis in an Easter Egg or my money back! :runaway:

As for it not being realistic without blood, well neither is one woman fighting a thousand soldiers and throwing them around like teddy bears any more realistic. even if there was some small amount of blood comming out, it would not take too many hits before she would be standing in a lake of blood when fighting huge amounts of enemy soldiers...

Well we arent talking about what is feasible in reality. We are talking about realistic effects missing aka BLOOD..mmmm...blood.

Animations are not realistic. Nariko's body structure is not realistic considering the fact that she's a super fighter. Heck, it's a fantasy world. Why would blood or gore make the game more realistic or better in any way?

Gore would make this game better, just like it made God of War better. I quess the action is more light hearted in this game, kind of like in some chinese movies e.g. crouching tiger, Hidden dragon. It's not that bad but. I'm not sure Teen rating will increase sales though so I don't see the point. However if that's what the devs want to do for artistic reason, they are certainly entitled to do it.
