Broken Sword is my favourite adventure ever -I completed the Director's Cut version two months ago on the PC, I purchased it via GoG.com-, and the new adventure of this wonderful saga is going to be released tomorrow December 4th.

For now there will only be a Linux, Windows and Mac version of the game, although this date is only for backers of the project.

The game will broke up into 2 episodes. The first episode tomorrow and second episode will be released January next year.

The game apparently got so big that the Revolution team wanted to give the backers something to play so they release this first episode tomorrow.

There is an Android version coming out next year too, and I think PS Vita is in the plans.

If this game is released on the Xbox One I am going to throw some confetti.

Why would you ever want to play this kind of game with a gamepad?
PCs use a mouse, android and windows 8/RT have touch, Vita has touch too.
But the xbone? You want to play this waving your arms at kinect? Voice commands? At least the dual shock 4 has a touchpad..

Deep down I know you are right -the Director's Cut edition is still fresh in my memory from playing it on PC recently-, but I would like to play this game on my Xbox One just like I played Broken Sword 3 on the original Xbox.

Major Nelson hinted at the possibility for the Xbox One to support mouse and keyboard.

Now that you mention it, having Kinect voice commands highlighted in green to search for clues, use objects and so on would make this game even more enjoyable and awesome. :smile2:

Yeah, big fan of Broken Sword here ! I played it on my ipod and I was so totally lost in it. Lovely game.
Vita version seems like a big win.

I think it'd be pretty decent with Kinect 2.0. You can actually "grab" stuff making it a bit more natural. Voice commands also work extremely well, so it should be no problem accessing inventory, combining items, selecting items, etc. Just have it highlight the name of the item (like in the Xbox One UI) so there is no ambiguity about what to say in order to select/use an item.

Hell, if it took the route of some PC adventure games that allow you to highlight all interactive objects in the scene, you could use voice control for the entire game. That also would make it controller friendly.

Hell, I'd like to see this available for the PC version as soon as MS releases a Windows version of Kinect 2.0.

SB

Adventure gaming has been back for quite a while on pc! There's many really awesome adventure games on the platform now. Try The Wolf Among Us as well, the games by Pendulo, the Secret Files series, etc, there's tons of them. This is a good site to get reviews on said games: http://www.adventuregamers.com/. Personally I'm really looking forward to Broken Age and Dreamfall Chapters.

I enjoyed one that I played until I got bored. I found this sort of game to sometimes be too specific for what they wanted you to do and not allow you to do other things that would also work in a given situation.
