Halo 4

Yeah... actually, I have complaints about the forerunner enemies shown so far being all orange and grey. Maybe there's a reason for that, but I mean Forerunner tech was almost always featuring blue (and some other colours with icons etc). :p

Are we sure the new enemies are Forerunners? I thought I read in this thread that the new enemies might be the Precursors. Maybe that's why they are orange/grey.

looks cool, but isn't it all Bullshot stuff?
I watched an extended trailer of sorts on Live, and those pics look like a gameplay sequence. It could be bullshotted for all I know, but someone was definitely playing through that sequence. Looked pretty damn good too. I agree the Forerunner enemies in that sequence have too much orange in them though.

Oh, and it looks like Cortana is finally gonna wig out properly. LOL!

Seems like there'll be even more. There's also the variant on the black spartan IV seen with Chief in the game cinematics, and it makes all kinds of sense to bring back all existing variants...

Just bring back all the helmets from Reach FFS. :p

Agree, I also dislike the Spartan IV armours, they look too fussy and overdesigned - as if they were anime influenced or something.
They also remind me of the silly Hayabusa armour in Halo 3.

The SP armour for the Chief is great though, probably the best iteration since the original game

Yeah, they look nothing like any of the other Forerunner designs or art we've seen. The Forerunner colour scheme seems to be blues, whites, silvers and grays. Not orange and grey.

The design of the creatures is also quite different to typical Forerunner, they seem more organic and biomechanical. Perhaps they're related to the Flood somehow and are influenced by their designs.

It would be great, if you could shoot your own grenades! Think about this little ship thing which catches your grenades and after a while throws it back...would be cool to shoot at the grenade and cause maximum chaos this way. :)

You've been able to shoot thrown grenades since Halo 2, so I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do the same here. :)

Here's an example from Halo 3:

And Halo 2 (obviously harder to find because there's no theater/replay):

Oh f***!
need to improve my aim! Tried it, and decided that it is not possible as it did not explode...did not factor in my bad aiming though :)

Just got the idea after finishing Max PAnye 3, where you often have to shoot grenades in the air...

Yeah, it's certainly more difficult to shoot your own grenades. :p It's usually someone shooting another's grenades.

I'm quite certain it's one of the tactics they expect to be used for the new enemy (at least, that's what I was thinking when I saw it).

You've also been able to shoot rockets since Halo 2. One time i was fighting a guy across the map with a BR and he grabbed a rocket launcher. My burst hit his rocket just as must have exited the tube because it exploded in his face and killed him.

I think it counted as a suicide for him.

Wonder if the new enemy is able to catch a rocket too. :p

A rocket to face that is :devilish:

From the books we know 343 guilty spark is a human spirit(brain uploaded).
What if these enemies are uploaded prisoner of war from the previous Human - forerunner war.
Because the book describe the forerunner more specific Prometheans as gigantic humanoids
being 3~4 meters in height and 800-1000 kg. And these enemies look a bit bigger then MC.
So i think they will reveal forerunners in the last 1/5 act of the campaign or forerunner based ai as bosses.

Well, they're user customizable multiplayer stuff. I imagine if people don't like them, they won't use them...

10 minutes of multiplayer with commentary by the MP designer. Looks great, way faster than Reach or any of the other Halo games

It's really interesting how they have so many guns with similar roles now - eg they have the DMR, the Forerunner Light Rifle, the Covenant Carbine, the Battle Rifle and the pistol for mid range weapons.

EDIT:
Actually they're seem to be a whole bunch of multiplayer videos exclusive to MLG which you can check out here:
