Free BRD for Euro PS3 online registrants.

They really didn't have to do this. Packing in one of the best movies, possibly the best Bond movie ever in for free ? What did the Europeans do to deserve this

A better question is what did us American's do that was so wrong to deserve TN? I would gladly pay $5 shipping to send them back TN for a copy of Casino Royale.

i dont know........

they either dont accept HOTMAIL accounts or they already got my E-mail as registered from the PSP/ps2 online account.

It says they dont accept my Email address

OT, as good as this is I'm not getting too excited cos I know by the time I manage to track down a PS3 all 500k will have been snapped up. :(
This is probably the first time EVER that we've gotten a new console ahead of you Brits - well, a few hours early - but who cares! So if I move quick enough, I should make that first 500,000! Yay!

Wait! This *IS* for everyone - not just the Europeans, right?!:(

Great marketing move.

I misplaced my "virgin" TN disc and didn't bother to find it. They should have given something useful/attractive to people. Otherwise it's just a total waste of money and time.

Talladega Nights made sense for the US launch; think of it what you might, but the title had to be PG-13 or under, yet 'cool' enough for adult males not to be emabarrased watching, and be part of the release catalog from Columba/Sony Pictures up until that point. TN wasn't perfect, but it was unfortunately one of few viable options.

If the US launch had been in March, no doubt Casino Royale would have been the film here as well. I've thought for some time that the Europeans would get Casino Royale - the only real drawback for Sony in a sense is that this is probably one of the titles that most everyone interested in BD would have bought anyway.

isn't this a disadvantage for west europe due to time differences??? an hour head start for eastern europeans :devilish:

hw many units australia are getting, they have huge time advantage

*considering all 2m PAL PLAYSTATION®3 owners connect to online and compete*

it will be interesting to see percentage of people connecting to net, then you can compare and see if sony's free online scheme really makes difference in terms of userbase proportion in comparison to XBL. of course it is not fair in many aspects, but it will interest me at least.

May I guess? "Senseless over-the-top destruction of stuff!"
That'd be a common woman problem with the film.

There is very little common about my woman. ;) It's previous bond-films, in combination with a serious distaste for car-chasing scenes. I think she'll actually like this one.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this isn't an actual "pack-in" which everyone seems to be calling it. It's not actually in the PS3 box when you buy the console. You register your PS3 on the network and then they send you a copy of the movie. So apparently you have to wait and can't enjoy the movie right away.

Yep, it's the same as it was with PSP and Spiderman 2 UMD disc. You got it in mail, in some occasions a month or two later.
I was lucky I got it after a week or so from registering my JP PSP in EU. Actually I got two of them, the other came some months or two later :)
Still, a good deal. Casino Royale would have been my first BR disc to buy, now I can spend that money on some other movie and watch that when I buy my PS3.
Considering I'll get one soon enough after launch.

Yes. It's to encourage owners to go online with their PS3 I think. Then while they're waiting for Casino Royale to arrive, they can buy some downloadable content ;)

I don't care about Sony's motives or the reasons for doing it. I'm simply trying to correct the people who are falsely labeling it as a "pack-in" :)
