Forum Software Change!

OK just installed a CSS overrider to change this sites forum background message colors from white to lightish blue (or whatever I want) so thats good enuf for me. Also the buttons etc stand out more
This is a thing thats been going on for a few years now, making it harder for users to actually see whats going on. Is that a button or is it just a word? A few years ago you knew, today its a bit touch and go ;)
But thats a topic for another day

Just noticed a couple of users have their posts here moderated and awaiting approval. Looks to be Veterans, so I guess only Legend and above have posting rights in this forum at the mo'.

I'll take a closer look at perms as soon as I get home. Those that hate the contrast of the new theme: I hear you and I'll do something about it soon.

Do you remember which usernames had moderation applied?

Congrats on a pretty smooth transfer guys, good job.

All such changes are a little weird at first but I suspect it won't be long before it feels familiar again.

I've implemented a set of new usergroups, and some of them have edit powers for their own posts, so the Edit control should be showing up for those in the right usergroup now.

Hmmm, looks like I can't edit my own posts still. Making this post to test it out to see if it only applies to new posts made.

Regards,
SB

Great to know things are are working well. Still unfamiliarized, but happy to know that the change went smoothly. All things seem to be in order, to me at least. Thanks for your dedication Rys and all others involved.

Ps: malo, pm me that pic. I'm doing research.

looks good and I'm glad you will be looking into the color of the forums. A nice black with white text would be nice.

i keep getting message is hold by moderator.

maybe the forum spam ip-filter is too aggressive? My country is basically the breeding ground of spam so the IP will be blacklisted on certain blacklist rules/source. For example, i sometime banned by ip from eurogamer and always banned by IP on guru3d.

While google always ask for Captcha if i did not login :D

Malo, zed, Florin and Orangpelupa in this thread. Also Azbat in Console Tech. All of them are in Veterans.
My posts are moderated too, but maybe thats a good thing :lol, explains why there are only seven threads with new posts this morning and not twenty.

I'll do a sweep of the spam capture settings and maybe relax them a bit and see if that helps. We are now plugged in to two 3rd party spam filters, so it could well be that.

I'll take a look at that change you want as well, Dom.

Looks like there was an issue in how I'd setup the Veteran group, now that I understand how XenForo combines permissions. Should be fixed now. The forum's spam filtering settings look OK too, and mainly apply to new users.

Try now (I'll get the hang of the permissions system soon, promise!)
