Forum Software Change!

Alright, thanks. No hurry anyway, if we've survived this long with the current structure, what's a couple weeks more...? :)

When using the dark theme, the bars above sticky threads and normal threads are really less than pleasing to the eye. :(

I lost the top blue bar that used to have my username and show alerts. Now I only see the second dark grey bar (with Forums, Members and the search box) hovering there all alone, and stuck at the top.

Look...

Might need a complete refresh in people's browsers for the new skin changes to take effect. It's all OK for me, but then I have been testing it all out for a while with the requisite full F5-ing.

Yes the UI.X relies on the js component for a lot of layout and chrome especially will cache it heavily. I did the same upgrade on my forum and a quick refresh fixed any issues I had.

Didn't mean to, upgrading UI.X is shit and it lost prior customisation. I'll fix at the weekend.

Fixed. Was poking around in the admin panel for other reasons and decided to have a look at the style issue while I was there. I've filed a bug with the UI.X folks to ask them to make sure upgrades retain customisations made.

Mine always retains customizations, as long as it's all setup the right way. Your edited themes are children of the UI.X themes right?

Yep, they're descendant styles from the UI.X styles as they guide you to using. I don't think I do anything special with my customisations either, and certainly nothing that requires UI.X code changes.

When I moved from the normal UI.X as-a-style to the new Addon+Style I lost a lot of customizations and had to redo them. Since then though the last couple of updates have been fine. Make sure you disable the UI.X addon when upgrading the addon as well.

I disable the add-on, set listeners to 0, then upgrade, then remove the listeners line from the config, then reenable. Is that how it should be done? It's possibly related to the new addon+style way of doing things.

I believe you only need to set listeners to 0 if you didn't disable the addon when overwriting the files and upgrading.
