Yeah thats pretty good news. I wonder why we haven't heard sales reports from the "usual suspects" yet though. No "DoA4 is sold out, so is Xbox360", likewise no "DoA4 is bombing hard".....numbers are out today or tomorrow I think.

I wonder if word-of-mouth is going to help DoA4 if it only gets off to a slow start.

I'm suprised no one has mentioned the horrible mipmap transitions. How about a little AF next time?

This game has probably the best AF I've seen on the 360. Things are clear and sharp no matter how far away from the screen they are. I'm not sure what you are refering to?

Itagaki has said something like 720p is a waste on the Xbox 1 and the best res for Xbox games is 480p.

i agree about the 3d water thing. how come super mario sunshine on the gamecube can have water with real waves (still my favorite water in a videogame), but DOA4 water is flat?

it could have been so awesome if the water was more interactive, and kicked up and splashed around as you move in it.

The water certainly reacts on the cherry blossom level. I think they didn't want both the interactive water and the waterfall ripple effect going at the same time since one is geometry based and the other looks like an animated normal map or something lke that. In any case it's evident that the background graphics are not the focus of the game, they are just good enough so they don't make the supremely well modeled and dressed fighters look out of place. Which in my opinion is a big problem with VF5's graphics at the moment.
