Btw, finally my "fortress" at Sanctuary Hills came under attack. The sirens went off, the music was swelling, and all the settlers readied their guns, left their designated positions and headed into battle. It was glorious, and I was super pumped. Well, until I learned about the nature of the attack: a single Bloat Fly. So in the end, the whole 17 well armed humans vs 1 trash mob scenario was definitely more amusing than epic. Monty Python-esque one might say.
Man this Bro of Steel stuff is so boring. Their 'ideals' make no sense to me anyways and I don't get the Power Suits at all ! How do I know I won't use up all the fusion core just walking to the next objective?
Minutemen at least make sense as of now and missions usually have stuff to do. I think I will just try and take that fort or whatever and let Bros take care of their own errands for some time !
Oh and at level 13 my levelling up is so all over the place that I have no idea which way to go in terms of perks and stats :-/ ! I think I will get royally screwed when the game gets tough.
You're not just doing the Cleansing the Commonwealth and Quartmastery quests are you? Because they're 'radiant' quests, i.e. procedurally generated so you'll be collecting tech and killing stuff for a thousand years as they never end.
I'm not Fallout lore expert by any stretch but the Brotherhood of Steel have generally held varied views on the acquisition of technology (and depriving "the common people" of it) depending on the particular faction. I've only done the ArkJet Systems retrieval mission with Danse and a couple of the radiant quests (described above) so don't have a feel for the BoS in Fallout 4 but they were complete dicks in New Vegas and pretty cool in Fallout 3 as they were very keen to keep the wasteland safe.

I'd recommend checking out Warcrow's tutorial, which he posted in this thread. You probably don't want to be trekking (literally walking around) with it on all the time because you will burn through cores but there's no shortage of them. I've collected more than a dozen and I'm not even looking for them, plus you can generally buy them from traders for about 500 caps - it's not like there is a finite amount. And remember you can fast travel in the suit without using up any power from the core.
Cores seem to last a fair while for me, around 15-20 minutes (depending what you're doing) but just save your game, put on your suit and run around and see how long it takes the needle on the gauge to drop. There is also the Repair bobblehead which makes cores last 10% longer. You can find this..
..on one of the high catwalks at the top of the Corvega plant
Mostly I'm saving the cores for the gattling laser because this is what it uses for ammo - a full core gives 500 shots.

The BoS have some of the best equipment in the game because they've been collecting it for decades! That's my prime motivation. Sure Paladin, I like your ideals, now where's the armoury and quartermaster?
Remember you're not signing for national service here!
Well my favorite thing so far was baiting a friggin Mirelurk Queen out of the ocean and to the racetrack on the coast for some serious Raider slaughter. The Queen and her hatchlings cleaned up. Lots of dissolved raiders abound. Even the racetrack synth/robots died badly.
WTF!!! Why would Preston offer this mission with me being only at level 10? No wonder the Minutemen group is down to a single guy and a nincompoop at that. Something told me when I saw that the mission was on the opposite side of the map, that it would problematic at my level.
Can you abandon a mission in the middle of it and replay it later?

U need only one forplaying the whole game right? I haven't seen any repair/damage stuff on weapons yet (thankfully). I found my second fatman but just left it there cos I see no use of getting another, too heavy to carry.

I'm looting as many weapons as I can because I break them down for parts for weapons crafting. I kept pretty much every weapon I looted since level 1 until I got the Scrapper perk rank 2 (which lets you recover all of the critical components of items) when I began to routinely break them down for parts. I'm probably good for components for the rest of the game but I still loot all items with uncommon components - just in case! Plus scrapper rank 2 actually slightly highlights any items in the environment that you've tagged. Very handy indeed!
I've about 6 mini-nukes and 30 or 40 missiles so I'm ready for trouble

I am getting bored doing chores now, guess I will just go to Diamond City now.
The game is a mix of very interesting and very boring stuff. Up close and personal one can tell its the same old skyrim/FO3 underneath it all. But then the world just feels so compelling in that loneliness that u keep going on.
And just liek the explorer I am whenever I reach someone to get a quest from them, I usually find that I have already completed it on the way !
But one aspect has me completely puzzled : the levelling up ! My points are scattered all over the chart and I have no idea which way to progress !
Another power armor pro tip: remove the core when you park yours. If you don't, literally anyone, be it a settler or a raider, can steal the damned thing. (and they will)

Yes this happened to me - I found one of my settlers wandering around in my power armour. Interesting when dealing with an enemy in power armour, if you can sneak up behind them you can pickpocket the core forcing them out of it. I've also seen some people saying a direct hit on the core will eject it!
I haven't found mine yet. Really annoying because it wasn't the lowly vanilla one from early in the game anymore. Already had some pretty damn good armor pieces installed.
Presumably if you follow the Brotherhood quests they'll get into battle and some will die? That's how I collected (literally) tons of power armour in Fallout 3. Finders keepers init!
