esata hard drives

Do all motherboards (if any) allow you to select an esata drive as a boot device?

I was wondering b/c i wanted to buy an esata hdd and put vista 64 on it, and leave my internal hdd and the xp install on it alone.

If your BIOS allows booting from SATA then there is a way. If you route an internal sata port to an eSata bracket, then the BIOS won't know it's external.

That depends entirely on your motherboard and BIOS.
