Heh heh ! There are certainly videos (trailers). The one on the latest Famitsu Wave DVD is around 8 minutes.

Anything Rare-related shown, or has all their stuff been delayed until next year or year thereafter? :) (Ah, yes, just remembered we did see screens from Conker... Went overboard with the fake fur rendering on his tail; it makes me feel as if I'm looking at it crosseyed or something. Hard to focus on it...)

They will offer an external battery pack though, and the way it looks it will likely be needed! Hopefully it won't cost an arm and a leg or be the size/weight of a brick either.

As for not panning out... I don't see that happening. The masses will buy this thing even though the battery life sucks because as you say, there will be lots of software for it. Also, with PS3 connectivity inbetween the two, that will only increase its appeal IMO.

    TA-TA TA-DA-DA-DAN-DAN.... GHOSTBUSTERS!!!!!!!

People will buy this even if it had NO batteries. Even if it worked by turning a lever every 3 minutes to charge it up.

Conkers and Kameo. Anythignelse rare is working on seems to be for xbox 2 launch. I think you're being foolish about the fur rendering. the fur on starfox's tail looked exactly the same and you didn't complain about it back then. The fur on conkers looks just as good as it did on star fox.

You mean "just as BAD as it did on Starfox". Especially considering the Xbox (but even the GC) could do much better than that.

No, it looks too exaggerated on the tail. The rest of Conker is fine though. Either pack the texture layers on the tail more densely or add more layers. Like I said, my eyes feel weird when I look at that tail... :p

Don't remember Fox's tail being this fluffy, and I never played the game nor really looked at that many of the screenshots; Rare collect-a-thon games had started to bore me to death by then. Anyway, it's irrelevant as I don't really give a *%!¤ about starfox, I'm talking about Conker. ;)

I have to agree with Qroach.. if you look at the software shown, MS and Xbox wins hands down, no matter if there weren´t any surprises.

If I want action, I will have it
If I want RPGs, I will have that too.
Sportsgames, we´ll hopefully EAs games will work good with XboxLive
Racing, well.. those bases are covered..

no matter what genre I pick (almost), Xbox has it covered..

Software-wise, Xbox wins clearlyin my eyes..
besides.. not many games can withstand the onslaught of Halo2, Jade Empire, Fable, SW:Kotor2, Full Spectrum warrior... to name a few..

Guess it all depends on one's taste...Out of all of them, Fable is maybe the only one that interests me. And that went from being the best looking this since Brad Pitt to a nice-y RPG. It still sounds like an interesting game though...

Ugh, this phpBB needs to get rid of the img tag support. People posting and then people QUOTING isn't helping page formatting NEITHER does it help in terms of forums space -- Dave has commented on the latter already.

Tekken 5 - arcades first, home consoles later (yep, probably multiformat):

Looking a little more Soul Calibur-ish in art direction with the transparancies and the colors (usage of reds and yellows, very classy):
    http://www.namcoarcade.com/screenshots.asp?sg=tek5-01&st=15&sz=1&sn=Tekken 5#img5

Considering Tekken 4 sold at least as well as Virtua Fighter 4, Namco's decision to look in VF's direction for inspiration is purely one of pride in knowing SEGA's game is fundamentally better.

But if the hugeness of the character roster is true, it seems Namco still hasn't learned that the focus should be about ensuring each character is perfectly executed towards an overall balance and not about the quantity of features or unlockables.

The textures seem very low res on GTA and the geometry not the best either but it will be an awesome game nevertheless :D
