Had looked this up online just because I was curious about how Fire Emblem: Three Houses did. Posting this because I'm surprised at how August sales were.

Ages of Wonders: Planetfall an indie/AA strategy title is #15. Congrats to them.

Fire Emblem did well, 4th best seller as a 3rd party developer on the NSW. Not bad. Astra Chain another 3rd party title on NSW is 10th. Huge kudos to both of those titles.

GTA V selling better than RDR 2, but that's mostly due to PC sales which are a majority of GTA sales now, I believe.

Spider Man is impressively at number 11. That title has some legs on it.

Talking about legs. Minecraft. Not much to say there other than it's Minecraft and it's seeing a huge resurgence in sales due to a resurgence on some big name Twitch Streamers playing the game the past couple months.

Now, the not so good.

“Dollar sales of tracked video game software fell 22 percent in August versus a year ago, to $257 million,” said Piscatella. “This represents the lowest total software sales in an August month since August 1998, which was $234 million.”

Although that doesn't match their chart.

• Total Video Game sales down 18%
• Total Games Hardware sales down 22%
• PC and Video Games sales down 24%
• Accessories and Game Cards down 6%

However, YTD it's still ~1% higher than 2018. And that's mostly due to the NSW.

“Year-to-date dollar sales of tracked video game software increased 1 percent, to $3.1 billion,” said Piscatella. “Nintendo Switch performance has driven the growth.”

Somewhat surprised at MK11 being in the top spot. Then again there hasn't been any huge releases this year really. Days Gone slipping in at #10 for now.

RDR 2 above COD: BO4 for the past 12 months is a bit surprising to me. I expected them to be #1 and #2 but with the positions reversed. Spider-Man at #5 is very impressive for a non-Nintendo single SKU title this far into it's lifespan.
