42" plasma Magnavox 1080p.
As I understand it, it's just a count of the types of HDTVs out there. Some 88% of voters have HDTV of some sort or other, which shows it's definitely not representative of the masses! And out of those TVs, all of them are going to manage 720p, 44% can handle 1080i/p. So half of the HDTV owners here should see a resolution beenfit from PS3(?). XB360 doesn't render to 1080i does it? I recall the idea that everything was rendered in 720p and scaled, but that theory seems to have been blown out of the water. Can it render to 1080i buffer? Any games doing that yet?ERP said:I don't really know what you're trying to measure here, but it should be noted that although I own multiple HDTV's I still play console games on a CRT SDTV.

If you can render 720p @ 60Hz, you can render 1080 @ 30 Hz. It'll be down to devs to decide whether to got that route or not.scooby_dooby said:Errr...what? They'll both end up upscaling a 720p image. 360 can render or upscale to 1080i, but just like PS3 it doesn't have enough power to render at 1080i/p and will be stuck upscaling from 720p for the vast majority of games.

Interesting. I have both an SDTV and an HDTV. I play the 360 on the HDTV and the PS2 on the SDTV (the original Xbox is hooked up to the HDTV, but mostly because I'm lazy--I prefer previous gen consoles on an SDTV versus my "I'll Show You Every Flaw" HDTV).ERP said:I don't really know what you're trying to measure here, but it should be noted that although I own multiple HDTV's I still play console games on a CRT SDTV.
