Diablo 4 [XO, XBSX|S, PC, PS4, PS5, XGP]

Paragon points was added in Diablo 3. When you max out the essential skills of your character build, at level 50, you still level up "infinitely", getting Paragon points, which you can spend to improve your character.

Maybe someone can explain this better. I still don't know well the new Paragon mechanics
Paragon is no longer infinite in D4. You still level up regular levels but instead of gaining skill points, you get 1 paragon point every 1/4 level, total of 4 paragon per level.

Paragon points in D4 is more complex but a lot more powerful for your benefits, allowing you to focus on stats and bonuses to you specific skills. You put points in along a path you want to take picking up all the bonuses along the way. The glyphs especially are a cool addition.

Diablo is mostly all about the endgame, which is after campaign is complete, going to WT3 and going from 50 to 100. It's when the Nightmare dungeons, Whispers and Helltides are available and begins the many hours of grinding for loot drops and xp to upgrade and refine your build.

225 paragon points is the current cap. 201 for leveling
20 for renown
4 for altars of Lilith.

But even after that you can keep improving glyphs.

What is paragon points, how to get them, and what are they used for?

So many confusing terms in this game. I even still don't know what thorn means.

Not as bad as destiny 2 tho.
At level 50 it opens up a path to put points into. You can add to attributes and unlock powerful glyphs that add to your offense or defense.

The drop rates and XP gain is a lot better in dungeons and NMD with the latest patch

Is money important in d4 ? I have 35 level barbarian and almost 1m money but not sure what can I buy for it, didnt see any interesting weapon or item in shops.

Gold is extremely important, you'll need hundreds of millions in the late game. It's needed mainly for the stat rerolls and equipment upgrades you'll be doing.

got to level 50 and I wonder.. how do glyphs work? They say "Drag to equip". But nothing happens, I don't know where to drag them.

The glyph socket is the empty one with red outline. You have to open up enough paragons to get adjacent to it before you can socket in a glyph.

campaign completed! My fire sorc went from indecent to actually good -thanks god those legendaries and damage reduction-.

Imho, the best campaign story in Diablo series. In addition, they did great use of the camera, this engine is better than expected.

As for the story, it has a bit of everything, but I liked the crow, the wolf, the serpent...., etc. And some plot twists. Other than that, it has the typical too grand, delusional moments of hollywood movies. That's my least favourite part of the story. But that was to be expected.

Sometimes I'd like more mundane things. Like if you need to ask for the key of a church's door, for instance, you could ask some of the village inhabitants about it, like in real life.

A couple of pics I got, the engine has potential.

Congrats! Now for the WT2 capstone dungeon :)
thanks! Which one is that dungeon? (edit: nevermind, found it)

edit 2: btw, it was nice to see Diablo 2 locations and monsters again in Diablo 4-. Wish Frozenstein and the Ancient Kaa the Soulless made a comeback, or Pindleskin, which was the subject of millions of runs, One of the main story characters in D4 is a total wink to Diablo 2 awesomeness.

WT3 unlocked at first try, no deaths.

That being said, I don't think the current gear of my sorceress will be enough. So as a little homage, I'm going to enumerate the most important bonuses from my gear that made my character a tough cookie (most are socketed and upgraded) in WT2 :)

Legendary Chest Armor -> Bonus "Basic Skills grant 20% damage reduction for 5 seconds"
Legendary Pants -> Bonus "Basic Skills grant 20% damage reduction for 5,5 seconds"
Legendary Amulet -> Bonus "You gain 0.60% increased Armor for 4 seconds when you deal any form of damage, stacking up to 60%" (works like a charm as Firewall and Fire Bolt are always doing damage, along with Hydra)
Legendary Focus -> Bonus "Deal 6% increased damage for each second you stand still, up to 30%" -this one hurts Diablo hordes, with all the damage reduction, moving isn't as important, so those bonuses complement each other)
(least important now, but still good)
Legendary Ring -> Bonus "Lucky Hit: Burning damage has up to a 15% chance to restore 10 mana"
Legendary Ring -> Bonus "While both bonuses from the Esu's Ferocity Key Passive are active, your atatack speed is increased by 42%".
Legendary Helm -> Bonus "You take 25% less damage from crowd controlled or Vulnerable enemies". Crowd control or vulnerability is not my forte, it if was, this is an awesome bonus.
Legendary Dagger -> Bonus "A hail of meteorites fall during Inferno, dealing 291 Fire damage on impact. Your meteorites immobilize enemies for 3 seconds"

Skills:

- Fire Bolt (essential for damage reduction bonuses from skills, also recharges mana)
- Flame Shield (essential for survival and its enchantment is one of the best)
- Firewall (essential, good area damage)

(secondary but very useful)
- Inferno (non essential, but great to have. It groups enemies, skills cost 0 mana while it's active, so grouping enemies and using Firewall is a win win)
- Hydra (okay to know where enemies are and it can be a steady source of damage)

i went to wt4 at level 60 with a buddy, below 60 the wt4 capstone dungeon boss just hit too hard
wt4 is pretty nuts below 70 when you hit murderpacks with 3+ elites in wt4 nightmare dungeons

lol lasted less than 40 seconds in WT3 after coming out of town. Some goat men took good care of me. Darn, I was becoming burgeois

hit too hard is the expression. Suffered that now. Tbh, WT1 and WT2 is just Normal difficulty mode like in all Diablo games, you beat the story mode and you're done. But after you get to WT3 and so on, things change. Monsters have different skills and colours. Cool stuff but tough.

You cannot have the same aspect twice and expect it to do anything extra. The lowest one will be greyed out.

sigh!! You are right. The lowest one is the Chest Armor. I felt like a god and though they were stacking. Sure I noticed that my chest armor bonus was greyed out but thought nothing of it. The pants bonus is 5,5 seconds, so it's better -I typed 5 seconds, which I am going to fix now- and it's not greyed out. Seems like I need a new armor.
