Diablo 3 - Gamepad Edition

Wait... legendaries aren't account bound on console?
Well, I don't think they are. Friends sent me a few legendaries via Mailbox. I got their attention for whatever reason, they are treating me well.

I had some fine rares and blue items, but those legendaries -weapons, armor, rings, amulets, etc- could be used after reaching level 11 and now Expert -can't play Master, gotta complete Act IV for that first, and I am in Act 1- is being more manageable for me, although I died twice.

I got my first legendary ever on my own, :p  a Vigilante belt, and sent it to a friend. :smile2:

I had another Vigilante belt, but it dropped with better seed stats -now called stat ranges- so I kept it and tried to help a friend with the one I got.

Gotta say that I LOVE how items show now their minimum and maximum possible stats for each category.

patsu, I'd say it's probably the best game on both the PS4 and the Xbox One as of now. Trust me on this one. It is worth every penny. If you loved Diablo 2 this is even better, surprisingly so!

Well, there are class specific weps. Only crusaders can use flails, wizards can use wands, demon hunters bows/xbox/handbows etc.

You have some nice friends. I sent all mine legs that I no longer need... only one person sent me something useful back
Hmm, just what I thought. I might check the attack speed with different classes using the same weapon when I feel like testing, since it is displayed quite clearly, unlike in Diablo 2 where a +40% attack speed could mean a lot of different things if you didn't know the formulas.

Yes, my friends sent me lots of nice stuff, I try to keep up but most of what I found is rather crappy except a legendary.

I've lived the most AWESOME event yesterday, and died. Some horns started to sound several times, as if a battle was about to begin.

And then, seconds later.... a monster called Nemesis appeared out of nowhere!!

The most AMAZING thing is that it said next to his name: "Nemesis: killer of your friend Kruelrafaastur". (I think that's his nick)

It was a random battle I will never forget, pretty cool.

That Nemesis had killed a friend in another game, and he killed me too. I just got nervous, to the point that I didn't notice I had a Healing Well by my side. Despite having fine items, I died 'cos of the surprise and not knowing how to react.

The battle took place at the Cemetery of the Forsaken, where you enter the Defiled Crypt. My most favourite Diablo 3 random event to date.

Wait, you have to mail people stuff? I thought the game auto generated loot and mailed it, just as a social feature. Everyone is higher level than me, so what would the point be for me to mail out stuff?
Actually, it shouldn't matter. I sent some legendaries I wasn't going to use -which other friends had sent me already, 'cos I only found a legendary for now :D- to people with higher level characters.

I did that because SpecwarGP2 :smile2: told me that the stash is shared, so... while those items might be useless for their high level characters, they can start from scratch with another character or build and use those items at low to mid levels.

The superb 2.1 patch (Mac and PC only for now) is going to be released on the PS4 and the Xbox One too, with Greater Rifts runs and Legendary Gems. Yay!

I just started the game barely and got gifted two legendaries I think, can't use them yet

Legendaries haven't been tradable on the PC for a long time. Basically since the auction house was removed.

The only time you can trade them is with other players if they were in team with you when the item dropped and there's a 2 hour limit.

Barbarian is pretty fun. Much different than my Witch Doctor. I hate those goddamn creatures that freeze you with ice though. What a pain in the ass.

Yeah you learn to maneuver as much around the frozen areas as possible to avoid them as in combination with nasty mobs, arcane affix etc you can quickly become toast. I can often time my leaps well enough to jump right as they go off and land in the same spot and keep going.

A nemesis dropped in my game too but I made mincemeat of him in 3 seconds flat. :devilish: ! It dropped two gifts for the friend who had spawned him. He messaged me later that they were soem super awesome legendaries. :) !

But I still say there are too many legendaries dropping and mailing around in this game. It makes them less special.
Killed Urzael last night , the first boss in d3 who wasn't a sitting meatball but actually did something.

Hit level 70 with my Crusader. I m in the Battlefield of Eternity right now and I have to say Blizzard finally realised that we want o play in visually appealing areas with visually appealing monsters. The whole vanila D3 was so bland visually. Act v gets better as you go.

Found my first level 70 legendary but was dissappointed :( , the weapon I am already using is much better than what dropped  ! Am on Paragon level 11 or 15. I didn't know u level up after the level cap too. But I like this system, this means I can tune the class to whatever I want it to be. My Crusader really lacks speed for co op runs so I am adding as many points as possible into Dexterity.

wot

Firstly your paragon should include movement speed as an option. Secondly, Dexterity shouldn't even be an option to raise.

Is D3 a completely different game on console?

OKay, just checked, its movement speed as you say. Although Vitality si there as a stat, then why not dexterity ? I guessed it would be there.

BTW, I sent some legendaries to a friend, he did not recieve them, but I lost them. So, you guys must be right that Legendaries cannot be gifted unless they drop as a gift.

Because DEX only gives dodge chance to non DEX chars. If you are a crusader and have a choice to assign one point to STR or DEX, why would you ever pick DEX? Especially with loot 2.0 (smart loot), gear with DEX won't drop for you. (well, 15% of the time non smart loot gear will drop).

Regarding sending legendaries... it does work. Your friend probably just doesnt remember you sent it to him.

I'm rather surprised at myself for enjoying this utterly mindless game as much as I do. I don't ever see myslef pooring the hours necessary for surviving the highest difficulties into it, but so far I'm having a blast.

^ Same feelings here. I don't know why I enjoy it, or even if I enjoy it, but I can't stop playing it :D ! Its a weird feeling when you on't know why you are playing the damn thing, but its addictive for sure !

Same thing here Sigfried1977 and RenegadeRocks. Level 20 here. I've found my best legendary to date, and I did it on my own, confronting an unique monster -the name displayed in yellow, SuperUniques are purple I think-.

That legendary is The Barber, quite a nice dagger. Gotta say that the brainstorming with Diablo comes from the fact of choosing and finding gear, potions, creating stuff.... in my opinion.

I've just found 2 legendaries total on my own, but I don't mind. Some rares are as good, if not better.

My Crusader has some very nice skills. I shall probably try the Demon Hunter afterwards.

Contrary to Siegfried1977 :smile2: the more difficulty the merrier to me, for a Diablo game -patch 1.10 for Diablo 2 was glorious in that sense- at least.

But I am still in Act 1 -the goatmen area-, and I'd switch to Master in a jiffy, but I must complete Act IV first to unlock Master.

^Jesus, dude, the game has been out for less than two weeks. I have a lvl. 70 Plvl 40 crusader lady (on Torment difficulty at the moment. Thinking about going one higher, though) and I really did play quite a lot lately.

@Cyan: difficulty is not the problem. Difficulty that cannot be overcome without grinding for hundreds of hours is.

Seasons came out on Friday and by Saturday night there were players who had completed Torment VI Hardcore lvl30+ greater rifts.

What???? You are kidding, right? How so? I wonder what gear they used... Or maybe a cookie cutter build -I prefer characters based on my play style so that's a no go for me-.

SpecwarGP2, in my case I am advancing "slowly" because like in Diablo 2 I like to discover the entire map and every single area, plus with personal life and work there are days when I feel tired and play half an hour at the most, not to mention that Twilight movies and the novel and related stuff are what occupy my days as of late, too.

But I am not in a hurry, this is a game I truly LOVE and I will eventually get out the most of it. I am not even counting the hours I played, Diablo is about both the casual and also the focused fun, depending on your mood.

What's the better area to make runs for stuff? Or is Magic Finding difficulty level based?
