Diablo 3 - Gamepad Edition

The only low level (ie: not ilvl 70) gear you need to keep in your stash is the lowest level socketed helm and wep you can find. It doesnt matter what the stats are, just need sockets. Gems have no level restrictions. So a flawless royal in helm is 41% bonus exp, in wep its +280 dmg. +280 wep dmg and 25 paragon points in all resist will allow you to faceroll everything up until level 50 or so (assuming you upgrade your gear with drops along the way). Makes life a lot easier. Also really good to keep is ilvl 70 lvl reduction weps. They roll up to -30 lvl reduction and you would not need to use a different wep until you reach 70.

This is important. We don't want to make it sound as if you can just wear level 5 items through level 50 just with +280 gems. As long as you're upgrading all your equipment with drops and crafting as normal, the other main benefit is being able to raise the difficulty level early on. I don't remember the last time I even started a character on Normal.

* They broke subtitles. I hate that, now I cannot get subtitles for any dialog from characters during the game. On PC, there were some kind of dialog bubble on top of characters. I know I don't miss much but still.
Subtitles and dialog bubbles look exactly the same to me than on PC, I have both versions, but prefer console version by FAR. (go to Options)

The Crusader is a killing machine, I repeat ! Awesome :devilish: ! Loving this new Diablo !

But for everything good, there spawns something bad. THe looy is so frequent now that my inventory is always full :( and also there seems to be no point in adding gems to sockets or investing in any way in gear as better gear would drop within 15 minutes !
Maybe all the socketing and investment in Artisan will make sense once i it the level cap, but as of now its just better to keep equipping new items and go on without bothering ! Diablo3 on ps3 wasn't so, but newer faster levelling up and faster loot drops have made the game very enjoybable but the player investment in gear is meaningless , as of now.

Will hit level cap and see how it goes from there.
I still have to relearn the game. Diablo 2 had the most awesome guides and stuff, and I knew the game reaaaaally well, but with Diablo 3 many things are different, like Magic Find, or learning how gems work.

Maybe this incredible guide can help you:

(the unofficial Diablo homepage, the former amazing diabloii.net could be of help too)

I am not playing anything else as of now, except Blu-Ray movies, on my Xbox One --love Twilight .

Is there a way to create mules like in Diablo 2, be it on multiplayer mode or single player mode? Just curiuous... Item finding is my thing.

I started on Normal, just because I am a classic Diablo player and was used to play on Normal, hence unlocking Nightmare, then through Nightmare, to unlock Hell difficulty level. But I noticed I don't need to. I am going to play through every difficulty level, I fancy this game so much.

How often should I craft items? I've given the blacksmith some training and had the cranky old bastard make me some weapons, but they don't seem that much different than what I can get from random drops. Doesn't seem worth it at the moment.

Just create an alt char and transfer the gear over from your stash.

Dont waste your gold crafting yellow items! With regular play you will be wearing all legendaries in a month.

@Specwar and Malo: oops ! I sold all the low level socketable gear !
Will save them when I find them with my next character. That advice needed to come a bit early :) !
Is there any COTA like place in Act 3. My Crusader is a beast and the monster density is pretty low here for fun. The game doesn't let me go above 'expert' difficulty. Hoping the dungeons below the snow fort will be denser.

BTW, my mantra is :
1)use all runes and skills possible to generate Wrath. Make sure it can never run out.
2)use Blessed hammer with freezing or electricity Rune and just pres R2 and watch everything die :D !
3)Use the Falling Sword skill intermittently for fun !
4)Set all gear such that I keep generating life for everything I Do.

Nothing has been able to stop me till now !

In terms of exp/hr, I am sure nothing can beat COTA in campaign mode.

On a side note, I do not like the change made to rerolling at the mystic. Why only 3 choices one of which is the same affix you are trying to reroll? The net effect is you only have two choices

Yeah, I've been using Firebats with the skill option that gives no cost for channeling, so I can just summon Firebats nonstop and wreck fools. That combined with my zombie dogs, zombie gargantuan, and crusader follower makes it so I have pretty effective little army.

Why not? I create yellow items all the time when leveling characters, especially at lower levels. If you haven't found a decent yellow to replace a much lower level one and you just opened up a new one from the blacksmith, I don't see any reason why not.

The entire game is not just level capped characters hunting for legendaries.

I don't understand some magic items. We had some tomb/book thing with good stats that you could not equip. The same with a pair of dice. What are these things?

Those are companion relics / sidekick artifacts. If you're playing solo and have the right companion in your party, you can give them the item and they can make use of it.

My WD's animation is funny when he summons Firebats/Acid Clouds. Looks like he's whacking off, LOL!

For leveling, sure... up to a point. I think once you reach level 40 or so the drops are good enough and you're better rerolling at the mystic (if needed)

Thanks! That's what I needed to know.

I upgraded the difficulty to hard, as the game suggested to me. It's so fun! I could play this game for years.

Do you know if you can play every single quest, even things like the Infernal Machine solo? :smile2:

I don't mind coop online, but I am used to play alone, 'cos I can stop at any time, which I can't do as often when online, among other things.

My character is level 6 at the moment, and I have quite a few items from friends -they sent me those using the mailbox thing-, and found some okay gear myself, mostly magics and rares, no legendaries, but I am doing fine with my female crusader.

Thanks! I remember "mercenaries" in Diablo 3 but not that much since I never got past the 3rd Act in the PC version. That's good to know. I am still trying to figure out how to create town portals and the like, but Xbox One's sleep mode make things easier, except if I get a power cut.

For Renegaderocks and the like, there are LOTS of great information about Diablo 3 here:

Just like in the old days, my favourite Diablo page. I am registered there, and spent some energy giving feedback on Diablo 3 when I began to dislike it, and the Auction House, and the full online thing -I am not so social online in that sense, only for chatting and stuff, but I am used to play alone, so... I felt like the DRM thingy was not cool, but the console version is just perfect, a dream game-.

Yup. I don't mind legendaries, they are really fine, but finding them in Diablo 2 was a challenge, and I could get with rares and sometimes great blue items most of the time, and the occasional legendary.

In Diablo 2 I knew a lot of the Horadric Cube formulas to get orange -crafted items- even. And along with runes and stuff, they made the game so varied, and I liked how you could build so many characters with totally different gear.

I finally got my dagger-wielding midget fetish army. I'm almost ready to replicate homerdog's build! Unfortunately, I don't get piranhas until level 61.

Question: Is it worth creating a Barbarian? It seems like ranged builds/characters are the way to go. Melee characters seem like they would get overwhelmed easily by higher level mobs.
