Besides, unlike PS2, they're aren't many developers pouring their heart and soul into pushing the visual envelope on GC. I'm not saying that the image quality of the demos wasn't higher than most GC titles but it certainly wasn't BS. If you're looking for BS try the old "Project Reality" demos.

Just want to mention that part of the Rebirth demo was realtime.

Seriously, people seem to forget that Nintendo's estimate of the GCN polygon count was very accurate.
 
It was quite funny with trying to use those old PS2 tech demos as BS of actual performance. Anyone who says that seriously haven't seen them or haven't seen them in a long time. Out of the whole arguement, the same old GT pics is always shown, but has anyone even seen that thing in motion? Heck seen any of those videos in motion? It's a low geometry, low textured mess. That so called BS FF8 demo was aliased out the ying-yang, every single one of one of those videos were nonfiltered interlaced mess like faf said. There seems to be BS alright, just not really from those tech demos...
