Current Generation Games Analysis Technical Discussion [2020-2021] [XBSX|S, PS5, PC]

The loading times are not especially surprising. The Galaxy S21 has a capable CPU that is not limited to 1.x GHz. It can got much higher instead for a short time.
Resolution on the other hand is a bit more surprising. The Switch has a small GPU but it should still be much faster than the GPUs in most smartphones. It does not have much bandwidth but it should also be higher than on a "normal" smartphone.
Framerate ... I guess this is again a CPU thing. The CPU in the switch is really underpowered and could do much more if Nintendo would allow a higher thermal budget for it.
Gpu should be faster than on galaxy s21 ? Hehe nope, its few generations differences vs old tegra

Death Stranding on PS5 pushes on average more than 8 times more pixels than on PS4. From 1080p 30fps (min ~23fps, boss gameplay) to native 4K 60fps (dropping to ~52fps in the same boss fight at 4K, the game is virtually locked 60fps at 1800p). This is one of the most impressive improvement I have seen (I actually don't remind a better one than this one). And it does this with much improved water effects (better than best PC settings) and slighty better distance LOD and textures details than on PS4. (according to NXGamer).

Yea, the water looks much better now on PS5. I'm jealous of PS5 owners with this one. I love Death Stranding and played it on both PS4 and PC.. but unfortunately I have no plans on buying a PS5, so I'm left hoping this update makes its way to PC at some point eventually.

The new content looks great! Hopefully more people give this game a chance.. it's a special one!

It is coming out on PC if you wanna wait it out.

PS5 uses a dynamic resolution with the highest resolution found being 3392x1908 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 2944x1656.
Xbox Series X uses a dynamic resolution with the highest resolution found being 3840x2160 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 3072x1728.
Xbox Series S uses a dynamic resolution with the highest resolution found being 2560x1440 and the lowest resolution found being approximately 1920x1080.
The above pixel counts were during gameplay. The cutscenes are letterboxed and during cutscenes PS5 can reach 3840x1608 (3840x2160 with black bars at the top and bottom of the frame).
The PS5 and Xbox Series X have some graphical improvements over the Xbox Series S such as: improved draw distance, improved LOD transition distance and improved texture quality.
The cutscenes run at 30fps and stuttering can happen when the camera cuts during cutscenes.

Battlefield 2042 Beta. What kind or artefacts are we looking here on Xbox Series? Some kind of aliasing (+ flickering more visible on XSS) on the water reflection near the bank? It's visible on scenes with reflection on water.

FC6 looks fun as usual and it's great to see those Ubisoft games finally at 60fps on consoles with such stability. I remember playing Far Cry 3 on PS3, great game, but the ~20fps framerate on that console was awful.

Yes, this is nice. But my guess is, that this will stop as soon as there is no more version for the last-gen consoles.

Res:
PS5 - usually 1800p
XSX - usually 1890p
tearing ps5 0.54% frames, xsx 0.3%
Both xsx and ps5 performing better than a 2070 OC at simillar settings.
What's interesting is that while PS5 improves a great deal compared to Pro: 2.88x more pixels pushed using min res/fps (1440p30fps vs 1728p60fps), XSX using the same comparison is pushing only 1.36x more pixels than X1X (4K30fps vs 1782p60fps).

Though I wonder why the Pro is only running at 1440p while the previous game was running at 1620p on that machine (while X1X is still 4K here). They probably could have run the game at a bit higher resolution seen how stable the game is (virtually locked 30fps). But maybe not up to 1620p.

xox has lower graphics settings than ps5 and xsx and res its also dynamic and can go down to 1620p with 30 fps (btw just noticed but its good example how gpu arch. improvement and better cpu make diff, 10tf ps5 givers 2x more frames with higher settings than 6tf xox edit: also noticed I missed topics haha)

He's running at higher settings than console on PC if the Digital Foundry settings comparison is to be believed.

Also the dynamic res makes a head to head performance comparison problematic as it doesn't work as well on PC as console, again according to Digital Foundry.

Didn't DF also recommend lower settings on PC then consoles?
