Now here is the medium+ (sound and physics was on high) ss of Crysis, running on a Opteron 165 (2x2.0GHz), 2GB RAM and a 7900GT, 1024*768 res vsync on and 16xAF.

This was changed from the default medium (physics + sound was high). It should be more frames on fps count but I was alt-tabbing for each ss (fraps no more! XD ).
Motion blur was enabled which makes even 20fps feel, strangely incredibly smooth.

Heh, my friend just played in a tournament a little earlier and won a trip to Singapore to play against the other top 7 from wherever.

His response when I said "Good job" was "It was random. I don't know how I won in this buggy piece of shit".

    Speakes volumes

People played Battlefield 2 like that and it is one of the most buggy multiplayer games I've ever played. Counter-Strike: Source at launch had horrible hit box issues and yet that was still played. Crysis really isn't any different in that regard.

I grinned, but mostly because I want to go home and open the editor to see if I can make one that big...

I finally bought Crysis. And I gotta say so far I like the game. The technology and presentation is just marvellous, I can't stop admiring how good the game looks. On top of that I think the suit is cool and adds diversity to the combat, which at hard difficulty without a crosshair is really movielike and gritty. I like the sandbox, ironically in this game I feel I have more freedom than in S.T.A.L.K.E.R.

Ok I finished the game. Some thoughts:

The first 3/4 were rock solid! I loved the freedom to just roam around and find the best way to get to the objective. I even liked the tank portion since I could just jump out of the damn thing and complete everything the ninja way :). The spaceship was a nice, short enough counterpoint and looked amazing.

After that things went downhill. All of the freedom was lost and I found myself in a generic shoot-em-up with (sometimes) respawning soulless robot enemies. No more could I roam about sniping and think about how to best maim some unsuspecting Koreans :) Much of the endgame even was confined to indoors even though the game and the engine was at it's best in the open jungles. The game finished with an anticlimatic boss fight from the 80's. I wonder what happened at Crytek that made the game lose all direction in the end.

Forgetting the lousy end Crysis is a great game and definetly worth the 20e I paid for it. I'm sure gonna play the jungle parts again in delta difficulty :)

btw. Does anybody know any good user generated maps for Crysis?

I can think of a few ways the game could've ended; the way it did just screams 'sequel' to me. The indoor levels showed off a few more technology pieces, but ultimately I agree with you: this engine's strong point is outdoors, not indoors. Oh well...

I assume we'll see another Crysis to "finish up" what the first one started. I'd really like to get back into the island, playing in the half-frozen aftermath with the twisters coming down and breaking shit. Maybe even a map where you can directly cross between the frozen and thawed areas, so maybe you could be driving a jeep and suddenly cross over where the jeeo freezes solid...

Still, a great game and worth the money for me too.

Hopefully this will mean Crysis will get some of the Warhead enhancements. Btw, is this retail?.

I see it listed as retail. Price would be around 50-60$. Kinda nice for this whole packet. Would be nice if it came with some artwork stuff and Cry-shirts!

Is there a way to install the editor without installing the game ?
