Buzz! The TV Quiz for PS3 and PSP

I think IGN UK already has a review up somewhere.

I wonder, for user created content is there a popularity or score based browsing?

Quiz seems to be a perfect game for replacing the host with a robot and voicing user created questions with text-to-speech.

I think I am going to make work related quizzes on our products etc and share them with our partners and customers :D

Can't wait for the first porn quizzes (albeit without pictures) to turn up. :p Anyway, I think that this is a great application and a very smart way to draw in casual consumers.

 Okay, I admit that I will be interested too but only with carefully selected pictures (or even videos)... and I am very disappointed that a B3D admin did not mention a console resolution, frame rate and GPU technology Quiz :devilish:

Nah, we only pondered if we should make that an obligatory part of the registration process to combat spam :devilish:

Heh. Seriously how come Europeans are getting all the cool casual games ? Is there a US release date for Buzz ?

I think it's 4th of July for the U.S. as well as Europe actually, but I'm not sure.

In any case, the quizbuilder website is up! And for a lot of different countries, including the US:

EDIT: I created a Beyond3d - Arwin quiz. I decided to call it Beyond3D Trivia Quiz - Arwin, so that other board members can also make their own versions. My strategy was to make 4 general questions about Beyond3d that I could come up with, and four specific ones about me. If more users do this, we should get a selection that we can use to play a whole Beyond3d themed quiz. :)

I just picked it up at a store today :) I asked in one shop and they said 2nd of july, while the other said, sure here it is :D

Not that many that has got it yet I think, because after a few games, I am doing decent enough on the leaderboards :D

Its fun, but compared to the later PS2 versions, I feel that its lacking a few question types, that was available on the PS2. And that what seems to me to be a 1 controller per PS3 limit when playing online Sofa vs Sofa. Atleast I havent figured out how to get more players per PS3 to play each other online, ie 2 on my PS3 vs multiple on a friends PS3.

Hopefully this is something they can patch

Ahh, excellent news. I'm a big fan (of putting my mates and gf in their place with my awesome all round knowledge!).

Relentless seem to understand the fun element so I'm hopeful we'll see patches and updates.

Depending on your language selection in the systems settings you get your localized version.
I got a JAP PS3 with english as language and I get the english version of buzz. But if I change the system language on my PS3 to norwegian, buzz also changes to norwegian.

Anybody know if eyetoy or chat in general is incorporated in someway?

Eyetoy and chat is coming in a patch apparently, but you should be able to play four vs four online though. Not sure but that's what I thought it said in the Eurogamer review (which also discusses the eyetoy patch).

The question types were limited for online play, I thought that if you do offline play that you still get all the question types. But in online play, there are only 4-5 modes available (excluding for instance the funny pass-the-bomb mode). I can see why, but no doubt depending on the popularity of the online component this will grow.

Are you able to play my Beyond3d question set already? I'm not saying it's good, just curious how it will work and if it is true that you can do a selection of say eight Beyond3d themed question sets. I already noticed a few Buffy sets, which is a show my wife loves and she knew all the answers easy (having repeatedly watched the whole 7 season series several times over on DVD)

I read the reviews now, so Eyetoy and chat maybe in the future.

And the sofa vs sofa is basically one controller per PS3/Sofa.

Pass the bomb and that stuff is available yes, but I seem to remember more where available for the PS2. Anyway the game is fun, I am at #1 spot of the leaderboard for singleplay :) Played online with a friend last night, he picked up the game in the same store as me. And also played some offline with a couple friends that came over for a visit.

I played your quiz, only got 700+ points, seems like I need to expand my dossier on you Arwin :D I gave you a 4 star rating :p

From the latest EU PSN update

Buzz! Australian Culture Quiz, £3.49
Buzz! UK Culture Quiz, £3.49
Buzz Rock Legends, £3.49
Buzz Sci Fi, £3.49

Not sure I like it or not, I mean question pack when it releases smells a bit to close to ripoff, but at the same time more questions are always welcome....... ohhhh darn :D

Depends how big they are IMO. If they're thousands of questions with high quality media, you're getting your money's worth. Consider a £40 game with 6 categories, each category would be worth ~£6.70 in isolation, and this way you can buy into only the questions that interest you, saving you money. If they're just a couple of dozen questions thrown together, it'll instead be a rip-off!

The £40 price for the game, does that not include the controllers?

And it will be worse if its just myBuzzQuiz type of addons, ie no extra audio etc.
But I'll guess I'll pickup Rock Legends and Sci-Fi ;)
