Bioshock Infinite

Bioshock infinite is a good game but don't expect so much things from eliz ability to bring another dimension.

The other thing you can bring from another dimension are the same thing that available on normal dimension.

Can't explain more specific, it will become spoiler.

But if you keep walking forward and keep trolling enemy with your magic attack, the game become enjoyable.

There a few moments where the scene are awesome and I feel so touched. They are very far apart and between them are filled with lots of gun gun gun.

But if you like the gun battle, bioshock infinite will be a good game.
I dislike the gun battle but already feel this game are good.

Just don't forget to keep moving forward, don't think. If you start to stop, turn around, enjoying the details.... Lots of the smoke and mirrors become noticeable.

But if you want to know the complete story, you need to stop and see the details. Or just read the GAF topic :D

Just shows that opinions differ, what a shock :)

I turned around, I stopped I enjoyed the details, and I didn't notice the smoke and mirrors.

Now about the thinking man's shooter, I would argue that most firefights had several ways they could be approached, all depending on your style. Coming from the quake generation I used brute force, on my second playthrough I will use more subtle tactics :)

yeah, i still feel the game are good but not 10/10 like many review site give it :)

the thing i really dislike about the battle on infinite is...

the world looks so full of freedom but i cant freely do what i want. I need to murder all of the enemy before the door magically unlock. The sky-rail-thing also not as good as the gameplay trailer that playing on the internet (that gameplay are missing).

on one of the battle, enemy sniper are hiding on roof. I tough i already murdered all of the enemies but the game wont progress, the battle music still playing, and i hear shooting sound but i cant find the enemy.

after i watch every roof, finally found the sniper, murder him, and the door magically unlock.
There also the inconsistency i feel on the "puppet soul magic". Some enemy cant be controlled. i just cant controll them, weird.

i know that Eliz kind of answer all of it on the ending scene, but the explanation are annoying.
things are different on different worlds. But i cant go to that world at all except when the story forced me to do so . The tears that Eliz make just bring another object to my world, i cant use it to visit that another world for gameplay element or stealth or tactics. Then suddently i or eliz can enter tear when the story wants it to be.

after changing so many worlds, i never got the world where i dont need to murder everyone. The worlds me and Eliz visit always become worse where i always become a murderer (on one world i am the leader of the Revolution-pox-thing.)

about the smoke and mirrors, its mainly about the AI that i mentioned a few pages back.

I don't see how anything can be judged flawless. Certainly not subjective things like games. It's childish. But we are talking about the gaming world here.

I really enjoyed this game. Incredible production values all around and highly imaginative as usual from this team. The combat got old though. I felt there was too much of it.

Some players are calling it th ebest story/ending and some are saying its just plain silly or weird.
Even the gamingweasal review says the game is awesome but the story is bonkers ;), although he does add: 'unless I missed something'

I enjoyed the story quite a bit. But I really enjoy MGS stories as well. Take that for what you will.

My "disappointment" for Eli's missing powers didn't come until after I finished the game and realized I didn't get to do any of the cool rift in space/time stuff that I thought I would. Now when I see the advertisements, or look back at the original interviews and trailers, its pretty funny to see such a gulf in her powers. Regardless, I still found the game very enjoyable overall, and I felt it had a much more complete ending then a lot of the half-hearted efforts I've seen lately.

Finally finished it, definitely took me longer than 13 hours!, more like 25! I just methodically cover every square metre of the playing area looking for items, secrets and to stare at the art.

There's no way to see how long your playthrough took, is there? Does Xbox Live tell you how many hours you've spent playing a game? I vaguely remember that it could.

I liked it, good art and atmosphere, thought the ending was good - though the whole time travel thing doesn't quite make sense, but then again it never really does, in any story, since you always run into variants of the grandfather paradox.

Like when the Elizabeths drown Booker at the end, since this stops both the Bookers who accept the baptism or reject it from occurring.

Therefore it also prevents Elizabeth/Anna from ever gaining the special powers she has to go back and kill Booker in the first place.

And doesn't this also mean the ending where the alcoholic Booker opens the door and sees Anna's cot couldn't have happened? Since Booker became alcoholic due to his guilt from Wounded knee which wasn't absolved by the baptism (as Comstock was)

Well, first impressions are:

Columbia is beautiful, but it ain't no Rapture. Looks like the city from Sabeteur to me. I know its not the same, but the colour palette somehow keeps reminding me f Sabeteur.

Also, the shooting....well...the shooting feels off. We are used to much better FPS controls in other shooters. The shooting feels like from an average FPS game, not a AAA title. Considering this one is much more of a 'Shooter' than Bioshock 1, i dunno... I am not getting the 'fun' in shooting.

And Vigours: they are just Drinks?!?!?! Hope they explain it better later on cos buddy, right now it doesn't feel like a Bioshock at all. Bioshock had Plasmids integrated into the story. Hre they just keep handing me drinnks and salts :-/ !!

Also, the game asks me to go back and open the first locked chest with the key I got, but there seems to be a dead end and I can't go bAck past that.

the magic is weird. They casually sells magic in a carnival in the begining of game. They casually promote it on posters.

But who using them? It seems only Broker and Bosses that have magic. How about Anyone else? hmm, they are just funny civilian that dont want you to steal things but as the story progress stealing are no longer considered as stealing (just keep playing until you find Eliz, more and more NPC will ignore you taking all of the things on table).
The silly infantry also only using silly weapon they called as gun.

btw the scene where 1st time come to columbia with blinding bloom and "circle broken" music. I feel so warm :D

Yea, the NPCs totally break the illusion of th emajestic city. They are dead people, u can't talk to them, you steal in frot of them, yet they don't react.
I think Columbia might have been more convincing had it been an abandoned city like Rapture.

yeah the only "live" NPC are just Eliz. And she also not always alive. Sometime she's just back becoming "dead people".

i miss Mafia 2's NPCs that still feel alive even after some things has been cut.

further into bioshock infinite, the game will showing less and less NPC so thats good :D And in a way, felt like Portal 2 with potato GLadoS (how to write GLAdOS?)

The story is getting intersting now. Just aout to meet Elizabeth.

But dear Mr Booker, can u pls stop blabbering so much. I know I have to board the Skyline, I know I have to go to the Monument Island, I am not totally dependent on ur speech, I can see too  ! Another case of devs trying to make the game easier for the players.

Oh, BTW,how do I unlock the 1999 mode? It wasn't there when I started the game and chose the difficulty.

Hehehe things are about to get real.. now repeat that every half an hour while you play that game and you will see that i am not joking :)

1999 mode can be enabled before first playthrough via:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Konami_Code

On PC (with keyboardmouse): Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, (Cancel key), (Confirm key)
On Xbox: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, B, A
On PS3: Up, Up, Down, Down, Left, Right, Left, Right, O, X

Reached the part where
Elizabeth whacks u and takes control of the ship
I will not lie, but still Columbia lacks the punch. I avoided all media for this game except the initial trailer where they showed Elizabeth healing the horse and opening up tear and us using the crow powers, so that I would stay innocent about the place, the atmosphere. But unfortunately, either that increased my expectations too much or Columbia's Sun drenched sights just don't click with me. I doesn't feel like a Bioshock game.

Maybe if all this happened in stormy skies with rain and lightening crackling all about, it might have struck the right chord. The opening in the sea and lighthouse was perfect, But right now, this city is too cheerful and colourful to have any grasp on me. I fire up the game to find out what happens next, but in no way do I feel compelled to visit Columbia again when I turn off the game.

Thanx. Also is there a complete explaination of what 1999 mode entails?

1999 mode are.... The game become harder, you die more easily but enemy are not. There also no manual save/

So the game more aggresively discourage you to explore.

Reached thd Comstock house and the game sent me to find the Lady's Grave. Being a thorough explorer I have already been there, will have to revisit.

Roughly, how much of the game is left? I have got some very strong guesses on what the story.might turn out to be,so how long till I find out ? :)
