Best E3 2006 In-game Graphics

Best E3 Demo Graphics for me (random order):

FF13
Heavenly Sword
Naughty Dog Game (I forgot the name)
MGS4
Gears of War
Resistance
Assassins Creed
Crysis (maybe number one amazing!)

I'll play but I'm only counting playable games

Heavenly sword
Gears
Crysis
Lost Planet
Mass Effect
Assassins Creed

Heavenly Sword...exceeded expectation with its amazing animation...Lost Planet is probably most underated game out there.

Good list..

The problem for me is including trailer stuff like MGS4...or Halo 3..however they look, they do NOT show anything resembling how you\'re going to play the game. So I prefer to leave them off, even though in those cases they give hints to how great the games may look.

Anyway, it\'s clearly Crysis. On the consoles, Gears and Heavenly Sword basically tie. I have seen one impressive snippet of Mass Effect, but it\'s like 3 seconds. Oh BIA, and stuff like that, is also still very impressive, and it was running realtime on the 360 at the show (not the PS3 probably because that console is earlier in development).

The naughty dog game is impressive and looks in game, but you cant play it so I still have doubts, sorry. Same basic idea why I discount FF13, etc. However cool it may be someday, I didn\'t see anyone playing it.

I see a lot of people including Resistance..dont understand that..have to take another look I guess.

No order :

Metal Gear Solid 4
Heavenly Sword
Gears of War
Resistance Fall of Man
Final Fantasy XIII
Assassin's Creed

And if its a game : Heavy Rain.

Consoles were relatively appealing. MGS4 was the most impressive of all, but Crysis will be the greatest game to come out that was showcased at E3.

I agree with pretty much everything on this list, definately the top looking games at the show.
On the pre-rendered side, I'd say 8days and forza2 were pretty good also.

Heavenly Sword

Heavenly sword has not only amazing animation but also amazing lighting and shadow. Everything has shadow even some enemy has self-shadow, very amazing. And I think they do not have much CELL use yet. For me Lost Planet is not so impressive but I think if in-game scene in Mass Effect is like screens I have seen then Mass Effect also must be on my list.

Final Fantasy XIII.
That was gameplay, right, and about the only one many, I included, took as being 100% prerendered cgi.

Ff13

They say is gameplay but is not playable yet. I think this is amazing because it has look like CGI. But I think it is not 60fps because FF game is always 30fps no? So maybe this is why graphics is so amazing.

I don't care if it was playable on the showfloor or not, I wasn't there.
To me all the game demos are equal whether they were being shown played or actually being played ;)

Wow, that's some heavy shadowing!
Maybe this was why the game looked so chaotic an a bit "messy" to me, I must have got used to the "cleaner" look of less effect heavy computer graphics in games.
Maybe HS could even benefit from a little toning down of effects, to make it easier on the eyes and not so overly busy :)

my list of playable games:

Heavenly sword
Motorstorm
GOW
Resistance: fall of man
Crysis

FFXIII easily was the best looking, but realistically it won't be in my hands for two years or so. Will it be as breathtaking compared to PC games of 2008? Probably not.

Have to say that Lost Planet liek someone else said is simply amazing. Screen shots and vids just dont do this game justice, the demo has turn it from something i wasnt remotely interested in to a must buy. Stunning on almost all levels and the gfx/frame rate seriously made me re-asses what the 360 is capable, i have no idea how capcom are getting this out of the machine so early in its life cycle.

Guys seriously if you have a 360 you need to dl that demo.
