If that is the real card, with only one power connector, and single slot cooling.. I have to say, wow.

Nvidia might have a problem on their hands.

well thinking thats probally the x800PRO and not the x800XT. i dont see the big woop, when the 6800 non ultra is one molex and single slot.

if its the xt, please prove me wrong :)

But, what if the X800 Pro can equal, or closely match, the performance of the 6800 Ultra?

BTW what makes a "dustbuster" to me it was always the noise and had nothing to do with the dual slot nature. I was wondering what people interpretation is of that :) .

Hey look... a molex connector. Guess that takes care of one rumor if that pic is real.

Is that a SFF PC too that it is in?

It certainly is! Looks remarkably similair to my SFF Shuttle XPC 8)

Looks like I'm going ATi for my next card then 8) :D

I would have thought DDR1 would require heatsinks for the ram. Yes, no, maybe?

Depends what speed they are clocked at. 9800pro 128mb doesn't have sinks on the ram.

But that's running at a measly 680MHz, whereas the X800SE is slated for 800MHz.

You don't often see DDR1 chips running at 800MHz without any form of cooling though. You might get lucky with it, but that's more like an exception than the norm.

i said nothing about performance, as it is, just a picture :)
we will have to wait and see.

Slightly off-topic, but I actually own a real dustbuster, and they're not that loud. Seriously, the 8000rpm fan I used to have on my old 1Ghz Athlon T-Bird made much more noise :)

lol, i had one 7000 rpm Delta on a 1.4 Ghz TBird...boy was that loud. The funny thing is that back then (3 years ago) it didn't bother me that much. I actually sold that PC to a friend and when i visited him a couple of months ago i was shocked at the noise of that thing...everyting is silent on my box now !!

I think GtW and SW are right and that is a picture of an SE.
Why do you think its a Se?
If you zoom into the picture it looks like Samsung memory on it, I thought that the Pro was going to be using Micron.

BTW-I was wrong, the picture IS of a Pro. Please don't ask me how I know, but I do now know it is a pro.

Gee, if Micron is (allegedly) not having trouble making 833mhz memory, surely they would be capable of supplying ATi with slower memory for the pro, especially since everyone is so sure that Samsung is having trouble with yields and nVidia is (allegedly) being forced to overclock memory. LOL!

1) The volume of memory needed for a high end part is just maybe slightly less than that needed for a more mainstream part. It's been rumored that ATI will be using both samsung and micron chips for the lower end boards.

2) nVidia has not been alleged to overclock their memory on many of their reference boards...it's a fact.

I'm not saying that any of the initial X800 products will have > 600 Mhz memory, but if it is Samsung memory in that photo (which we still don't even knoew)...it's not particularly surprising.

Great. I can't believe ATi's reference card doesn't have dual-DVI. What a major let down. :(

The nV40 doesn't support dual DVI natively either. The reference card uses a seperate TMDS transmitter to drive the second DVI. I beleive it's the Sil1172 on the nV40 cards.

I'm sure someone will make a dual DVI version. Asus (and Saphire IIRC) make a dual DVI 9800 board.
