Here is an awesome find, the semi annual EU software sales chart from some magazine (Games Markt). This is through the first half of 2015, or through June 2015.

However, there is a pretty big bug, somehow Bandai Namco games were accidentally omitted, such as the huge hit Witcher 3. Supposedly the mag will publish a corrected list next month, but for now they said on twitter

3.) The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt
12.) Dragon Ball Z: Xenoverse
13.) Project Cars

Anyways here is the list

Top 20 All Formats (Value) January - June 2015

The data here takes into account video games sold from retail outlets in 20 European countries. Those countries include: Austria, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Sweden, Denmark, UK, Ireland, Finland, Norway, Russia, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary and Greece. Digital sales are not included.
The current report is compiled by using data of each participating country, fully extrapolated by each country manager to 100 per cent of local market coverage.

Also note Minecraft is sorted by combined value (the revenue of the title by the two publishers added together)

So guys... this "[insert month here] will be interesting" thing... is it a meme?

Is it code for, "I can't wait for [insert month here] sales results, to see [insert console platform here] get destroyed by [insert console platform here]"?

Interesting because MS always win November and December, however Sony have done some big deals so it will be interesting to see how it plays out.

Not sure what the issue is...this is a sales thread...for discussing sales?

I find Nintendo's Market Share quite impressive. I guess its all thanks to the handheld market

Oh, no issue at all. My post was tongue in cheek.

I just find it humorous that on almost every interent gaming forum I read, in sales threads the most popular phase used when speaking about the potential outcome of a future sales result is "X will be interesting". That's why I asked, is it some meme or running inside joke that i'm not aware of?

oh, lol - sorry...took it a bit too seriously.

By the way, saw the CoD PS4 at EGX - looks much better in the flesh, the orange is really bright...luminous!

What about the bright orange buttons on the controller though? That was the worst part for me. It's the kind of garish bright colour-for-colours-sake that just makes me want to puke rainbows:confused:

For some reason the thumbs didn't seem as bright. TBH I wasn't paying too much attention, as much as I love my 20th anniversary PS4 it's painful to see all these over nice looking options for the commoners...the MGS I think looks really nice in the flesh, I would defintely have bought that one!

:devilish:... I'm not jealous... honestly, I'm not :yep2:

Show off!

Judging by the pricing of X1 1TB bundles seem like MS increased the price of the X1 (specifically for 1TB editions): http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0136JP9OS

I expected 1TB to cost $349 and the regular 500GB to drop to $319 honestly. They are pretty confident in their first party lineup (Halo 5/Forza 6/ROTR) to push console sales it seems.

$399 gives MS room to 'discount' to the lower price come holiday shopping and provide an extra psychological incentive for shoppers. That is, pricing $349 now and not dropping the price at holiday season misses out on a 'bargain' additional value to the purchase.

It's all mind games when extra cash from shoppers!

Whatever their pricing strategy is, the Halo 5 LE consoles selling for $500 is a bit too much imo. When i saw the price i though they include the Elite Controller, which would make sense given it's Halo.

This maybe true from a psychological standpoint. However, this day and age, consumers are more aware of these tactics (social media, gaming sites, etc...), and tend to have less impact because of "teh internetz". Seriously, you have to be a complete moron not to price compare (GOOGLE / BING) previous deals or sales before making a final purchase.

I don't think the inflated RRP is properly appreciated by most consumers. I often find myself explaining the UK pricing system to folk in response to high announced RRPs.
"I can't believe it's releasing at that price!"
"Give it a month or two. That's just to allow for high 'discounts' down to the real price."
Like , who pays full price for furniture? Sofas are sold at massive 'discounts', which really means the price is jacked up a couple of weeks in a year to allow for the intended retail price to appear better value.

MS won't be feeling any internet or social pressure to drop the RRP. The bundle pricing gives the console a perceived value greater than its final retail price in a few weeks when the box is flying off the shelves and everyone's saving themselves $50 by only paying $350.

Well that's great for UK i guess, most European retailers outside of UK i know of hold to the MSRP till they have no stock or no customers though :-|

*If a mod is slightly bored - color coding this would be greatly appreciated. Usually I would do this... however, it's quite tedious using a tablet on doing so.

*EDIT: Was a mod too bored?
*EDIT: Universe returned to normal.
