No they wont, but they will notice how uterrly crap and texture's look. Ands when your promoting a new console that is'nt the impression you want to leave in the customers heads.

I dont even think theyll notice that for the few weeks this demo will be on display.

most the people that are going to buy the system don't play pc games and comparing it to current systems it's still going to look alot better.

most people don't know how much better the same game could look with a little filtering because they don't know it exist

you're forgetting one thing - those kiosks will be running nice LCD HDTVs in progressive scan mode. things can get _very_ noticeable there - more than on a pc monitor as the pixel pitch is significantly larger on the tv, moreover that at kiosks viewers stand rather close to the display. and i'm saying that from my experience of watching several launch titles at an MS event - edge aliasing was easily notceable, lack of aniso was easily noticeable, mistakenly shaded pixels were easily noticeable. i totally understand MS' requirement for mandatory FSAA - you do need that, along with decent texture filtering if you're going to run your titles on an HDTV.

I think the mistake people on this Forum are making about the XB360 demos' lack of AA and AF is that they seem to be making a comparison relative to PC graphics. There's no question when one compares COD2 on XB360 with COD2 on a good PC that the XB360 demo version is lacking a bit visually.

However (and this is the important point), when compared to Xbox visuals, the XB360 visuals are at least an order of magnitude better. It's very obvious. So, as far as console games go, the demos on the XB360 kiosks are just fine. Sure there is some aliasing, but I wouldn't say the textures look like crap at all, especially when compared to Xbox.

These consoles are supposed to be good for several years. If they're entering the market with technology behind the times, it's ging to show quickly. Hence SM3.0 and powerful GPUs in these machines - They're supposed to be the best possible technology (within a reasonable budget) to carry them through the generation.

As such I don't think it at all wrong to compare XB360 visuals to PCs. It's just as capable on a hardware level AFAWK. Bands across the mipmaps isn't acceptible for a next-gen console.
