Anyone who bought Archer Maclean's Mercury with the anticipation of playing it with the tilt sensor might by now be wondering what's up with it not appearing yet. I mailed the guy about this in respect to the PSP's EU launch. He says the tech is ready to go but the hold-up is in the beaurocracy of 3rd party peripherals.

Archer Maclean said:
The tilt sensor definitely exists, with numerous versions already shown to the press last year (hence the comments you've probably read about), and patent applied for.

However, due to the very recent world launches of the PSP Sony do not yet have official protocols for submitting 3rd party peripherals approval specifically for the PSP, even though they are currently sitting on the sensor and like it allot ... so officially we are working with Sony to resolve this situation for the good of mercury players the world over.
Just thought some might like to hear. For me this game was the system seller, but without tilt control I'll wait.

Yep without tilt this is a no buy. To sad because this is something that can make the PSP seem more Nintendo like, but in a good way. I mean people will see this as Sony trying to do something more innovative than just putting out Sports games (thats the psp's reputation anyway).
