[360, PS3] BF:BC2 and BF 1943 online

I played the MP of BF:BC off and on excessively since release last June (still play it) and recently started the SP campaign (on Hard :p) and man is it good!

the large map areas, rather than corridors, give you much terrain to navigate and paths to choose to overcome the enemies. the style of the 3 characters and the great voice acting and comments make you feel like you are in a squad. the feeling of a realistic battle and the shooting are all present. The gold and weapon collectibles add an element as well.

alll in all a very under-rated, top playing game IMO.
I am on pins and needles for BF 1943 and will absolutely play the BF:BC2 SP as well now. The graphics are also under rated IMO, The destructibility although less realistic than Red Faction does affect game play.

Absolutely ! The graphics has the best outdoor lighting on characters I have seen. They actually look like they are standing under an open sky with sunlight on their faces. The destructability is a lot of fun. More fun than Red Faction, coz we are not worried about if the building is breaking procedurally or not, what matters is if it will make my game play and feel different if I break this building? Bad Company has it incorporated in its gameplay design. The destructability makes the MP feel even more fun, coz you know if a tank is around the corner, you have only one chance from this position before he shoots the wall away :D !

Also, I like the health injector, as it is better than just waiting behind a wall for the health to recharge:rolleyes:. Atleast you do something when you run behind cover, inject health , change weapon and come back into combat. They should NOT do away with it !

purchased BF 1943 today and checked it out.... very much like BF:BC with a few fixes (graphics don't seem as good)

The good news is that evidently Ea has already sold more than it expected by far as they unexpectedly needed to add more servers as they were completely overwhelmed today

this and Red faction will own my summer game play

Going to pick this up after I'm done with Wolverine (hopefully tomorrow). It's been a while since I last e-thugged some 10year olds over Live. Good times.

So it's a worthwhile purchase, Tap?

What's the maximum players for this? Is it platform dependent?

12 per side, EA servers with the option to create Private matches on EA servers with the caveat of you need to have 16 minimum players (mostly set aside for Clans I imagine).

the regen health and regen ammo didn't seem to bither me much as the combat is fast and furious and unless you are camping or on a run, you won't live long enough to make it an issue.

I enjoyed BF:BC online quite a bit and if you enjoyed that it's a no-brainer as it takes that and adds new skins, maps, weapons etc and planes.

I really enjoyed it for the short time I had today while servers were up.

they are adding new servers and I read they may take the system down for a bit and rest everything as the demand is evidently overwhelming.

Oh and there is evidently a limited timed Demo trial that you can do but I just popped for the $15 right off the bat. Also has a tutorial mode where noobs can go in and mess around alone and try everything out. Only thing I noticed was it didn't seem as if the destruction was as compete as BF:BC nor form what BF:BC2 will be (which is a lot more)

I've been reading the forum on xbox.com and it's just flooded with people upset about the servers, either they can't get into games or when they do they are lagging badly.

I didn't play BF:BC, haven't played a BF game since 1942 on the PC.

The reports that aren't full of complaints from people who can't play seem to say the game is a lot of fun. I'm going to see if its available here when I get off work and give it a spin. I don't have any multiplayer shooters except for Halo3.

Seems to be a common problem now. I think a lot of companies intentionally underestimate the server load until they can project sales. I bet it'll be fine within a week.

Early in the night I had trouble joining games. Later on it didn't seem to be an issue.

Great game for $15. Graphics are not as good as Bad Company, but they're good. I had a good amount of fun, and was doing pretty well most matches. I'm much better at the vehicle and turret part of the game than the infantry part of the game. The exception to that is the plane, which is definitely not my thing.

I'm less than impressed to be honest... I tried joining last night and it just sat there looking for games for about 20 mins before i got bored and turned it off (had an early start today!)... so arrived home just now and gave it another try and now i get a brief search followed by the message that no games could be found.

If I had paid for the full version already I would be especially miffed! As it was i decided i might as well give the demo a spin first.

Still waiting....

got into a bunch more games last night and the game is FUN.

with the planes and the terrain (great maps) and amount of things to do in 1943, it gives you many ways to enjoy the game your way. 12v12 is a perfect balance also IMO.

never gets old seeing the planes come swooping it for a dive bomb run on a flag as you are trying to take it. the animation or overall graphics are not quite as good as BC but at only 559MB it's pretty impressive, nonetheless.

weapons have a great sound and feel, very rewarding. the terrain is what really makes it interesting in these maps and I can see why people loved 1942. Explosions are exciting and rubble flys as the destruction kicks in. Still learning it and getting a feel but the more I play the more I am enjoying it. A nice change up from Red Faction.

they are still having server issues hopefully to be ironed out but allegedly it is already the fastest selling XBLA game to date.

Available on PSN today now also

Bought it last night. Got into a game right away and didn't experience any issues. Likely because I was on late. I was quite critical of this when first announced but man, this game is FUN!

This game will easily be a million seller on XBLA. If they fix the server issues quick and word of mouth spreads fast, it could be huge.

12on12 works great and still feels quite hectic. I'm surprised all the content they have been able to pack in just 559mb.

I start off piss poor but got by bearing down and finally finished a few rounds on top. Good times.

The server issues will be fixed. There was a scrolling banner on the main menu that said they were having server problems and were adding more capacity. At least they have a convenient way of informing their customers about issues right in the game.

The plane sounds like a lawnmower to me, but the buzzing when it flies past you is pretty cool. I can't fly the plane very well at all. It's something I'd like to get good at because it seems like it would maybe be the most entertaining part of the game.

I absolutely smoked some planes using the AA guns. The explosions look really good, and I saw some spectacular crashes. That planes only level will be very very cool.

I bought it last night, couldn't find any servers for the first hour and for the second hour I couldn't connect to any of the games that were found.

I played around in the training mission for a bit and it seems like it should be fun if things start shooting back :)

I wonder how much this game will convince others to release 'Full-ish' games for download.
