[360, PS3] BF:BC2 and BF 1943 online

There are trees and foliage in the PS3 beta (albeit far less in the level DICE chose there) but no A2C from what I can see. Really scratching my head over that one.
some of the deaths are amazing... I set a charge last night and was crouched in a corner trying to hold it down and gys were coming up to the door window trying to take us out. I hit this one guy through the window and I just caught out of the corner of my eye, he drops his weapon and reaches up and grabs his throat and slowly staggers to the ground. it was so sweet looking.
I've seen guys spun around when hit in the shoulder, blown back about 10 feet when slugged with a shotgun, etc... this game is amazing all with excellent lighting and effects going on around us. I had seen these animations in single player affairs before but rarely is it executed in MP

Still figuring out the game as I haven't played much yet. Sniping is fun as the pace is slower than MW2 and there are nice hiding spots. Although foliage looks very bad (maybe AtC was used because Dice originally wanted AA? Whatever the reason it looks bad. Correction, BAAAAD.) Spotting is great--it is fun being a sniper and spotting the enemy units--and snipers. I found no one is spotting them so finding a good hiding spot and identifying all the enemy snipers allows my mates to start attacking. By then the snipers are distracted and I can pick them all off C4 is pretty servicable. I had a great spot today where not one, not two, but three armor units in a row (must have been damaged?) Overall the sniper class feels very useful. No prone is a downer (seems to work in other shooters and BF games), but then again most BF games never had deviation right (e.g. dropping prone should have always added 2 seconds or so of really bad aim to prevent diving).
Haven't had much time with the other kits. Still not used to the Assault gun (doesn't seem to have much knock down power... then again I tend toward realism mods/hardcore because I like being rewarded for a solid first round burst).
I REALLY wish you could play the Map ALONE or with a couple friends. I haven't had a chance to fly at all and would love to get some offline practice first.
All in all the maps graphics aren't very good. Smoke is annoying, foliage looks bad, and the game is very jaggy. The map they chose is a really boring pallet and doesn't look very detailed because of that. Hopefully other maps will look better.
The gameplay is solid though. Haven't played with people with chat. Vehicle seem balanced about right and the maps are huge. It does seem assault is easier than defense, but did win a defense round today. I didn't like Gold Rush much (more of a Conquest Player). I am on the fence--I love BF games, but with 8 maps it seems light (will conquest and 4v4 be on every map?) and no 4 player coop is a disappointment. The GameStop bologna also is a turn off.

Port Valdez is impossible to properly defend if your playing with a bunch of Rambo wannabes and I agree with that.But, if you have a squad where everyone understands their role and works together, then defending PV is a breeze..This morning, I was playing 4 hours straight with a great group of people who unnderstand the concept called teamwork and it was absolutely amazing.My favorite class to use is the Engineer as im quite deadly with the Scar L Carbine and you get the benefit of having a rocket launcher as a gadget..
The graphics could have been much better as the foliage does look pretty bad but the lighting looks nice along with the death animations..What impressed me the most is the sound in this game is absolutely amazing...This is definitely a day 1 purchase for me and I hope that DICE supports the game wuth dlc new map packs..

I think the BF BC 2 PS3 beta was from a more recent build of the game while the 360 version is from an older build...Both versions should look identical when released in March..
I'm still not sure if I'll get this for 360 or PC. If PC, I'll need a new video card because repi was talking about some sweet looking DX11 shadows. The PC guys say the beta looks good, lots better than the console versions.
On the other hand, voice chat is probably going to be better on the 360.

Honestly, both versions are going to be a blast to play so get the version that you want the most..You can't go wrong with either one..Anyways, the only problem I have with the beta is that it takes an insane amount of points to become a level 3 Private..
LOL, I need 4,000,000 points to level up for a level 3 Private...

I noticed that too. That was one of the (few) things I hated about BF2 - after a certain point it was just an impossibly monotonous grind to level up. That, together with all the rediculous "in a round" requirements, ultimately turned me off so I quit playing.
BF2142 was a little better in that regard. In fact, I wish they would make 2142 a downloadable game on Live. Holy crap I'd be all over that one! Make it happen, Repi!

yeah, the characters do cuss alot but it has never distracted me from playing the game..If there is a language filter option then use it if possible...

Yeah, the audio in the first game was the best I've experienced. I didn't really get into the single player campaign on the first, but it seems like the second is much more interesting. This is definitely going on my list of games to buy.
I have had one map on this demo for what? a week? and have hardly touched my other games including ME2.
so yea... in.
