[360] Forza Motorsport 3

While color saturation and contrast aren't exactly "photoperfect" T10 did a good job making the cas and world match for the most part and overall the game looks excellent which is saying a lot at 60fps.

Ferrari: Part 2. Tons of pics!

Is it cool to post 1280x720 images or do they need to be resized also?

It only matters if the file sizes are 300kB+ (total). ;) But if you try to post a lol x lol size image that is a single colour and like... <50kB.... I dunno. Do we need to go there? ;)

Trust me though, there are some folks that would like to have a discussion without having to necessarily load images... :(

Is there a reason you think the rim is on the road?

Yes, it looks like the rim is on the road.

Apparently I could not make out a wall in the foreground (I still can't). The motion blur is a bit extreme, what kind of camera settings are they simulating 1/10 sec exposure?

If you look at the road the road, and not just the tire, you will see the asphalt is occluded as well by the foreground. Whether a wall or the road embankment is higher than the roadway (i.e. recesses) the asphalt road being obscured is a good indicate that the tire isn't sunk into the road--and if it was (always possible) this picture itself isn't proof. There are enough negatives to see without looking for stuff not there or inconclusive/taken out of context of the remainder of the picture. The photomode lighting on wheels was a pretty good example of a rendering error.

As for exposure time it depends on how fast the car is going. If it is going fast it needn't be long although I would imagine in real life to get a clean side shot at a car going 150MPH isn't an easy task.

Looks good but the in car dash could certainly have used a few more poly's...

Shadows for other cars react properly to the sun, so that's good. :)

There appears to be in car self shadowing. But it's a bit buggy it seems. Watch the shadows cast by the A-pillar in the car. Hmmm, or is that the dash casting the shadow? The roof of the car also casts a shadow onto the dash, as does the environment.

Regards,
SB

I am quite disappointed with the gamersyde images.
The shots with the yellow car, the red car,and the white car all look really fake to me.
Not fake as in: pr-shots/photo mode, but fake like it does not resemble a real car, or real car paint.
The polygon detail is good, but the shaders are lacking severely imo, not to mention the (unrealistic) color. I don't know what it is, it's not my screen because I looked at GT5 screens a minute ago and the colors seemed perfectly fine.
The black car looks better however, it's as if they turned the reflections at a higher level. I don;t know.

Still, imo the cars look disconnected, and fake in a way. These are not 'solid' cars, they feel like empty, plastic shells of the cars, with a little gloss, but not with real paint on it.
Also the sunlight has a wrong temperature. As if everything is artificially lighted.
Am I the only one who feels this way?

edit: cam footage just downloaded and it looks better than the pr/photomode shots, but it's still off. I hope I get the demo soon.

i know what you're saying.

it's a mixture of both lighting and how the engine handles certain colors under different lightings.

still, a yellow gloss paint job doesn't blend well even in the real world.;)

yellow isn't my favorite color and gloss is my second least favorite paint job. (first least favorite is matte, first favorite is metallic. ;) )

Mod Note: We can do without the off-topic discussion for those who realize a couple posts are missing. There are indeed ways to discuss things without making it a tired and old versus comparison between games as some have already demonstrated.
