[360] Forza Motorsport 3

They differ from car to car. But turn 10 stated that Forza3 cars in general have x10 times the polygon count, compared to 2.
It is not known if this includes interior view.

yeah, that's what they been saying, so I'm guessing we're not going to know until a developer spills the beans.:cry:

September 24 is when the demo comes out, I'm really happy to hear that.

no more resolution and AA guessing until the demo comes out. (13 more days)
 
I've actually asked about the tessellation way back when the 10x number came about. I don't think they're willing to talk about it. :/ Our only hope would be a GDC presentation or other developer conference, unfortunately. :(

hmm, that's too bad. I wonder why they're so secretive about it? You always hear the PS3 devs talking about how they use the SPU's to do this, this and this. Why don't the 360 devs explain how they're using the unique features of their system as well.

I watched the Sedona vid on my TV yesterday, I liked the improvements they made but wasn't exactly blown away, it still looked distinctly Forza with their somewhat non-realistic color palette. Trackside detail looks fantastic though, better than GT5 and aliasing is hardly noticeable anymore. Have they also upped the texture filtering to anistropic from bilinear? I noticed the tyre marks on the road surface are visible much further into the distance compared to F2 , where the road quickly becomes a blurry mess.
 
can any tell what mainframe they're using for graphics?

is it's a custom suite?

I use to work with audodesk maya....(still do actually) and whenever i would turn the poly count indicator on it would show up on top left. (followed by other information and a bunch of other numbers that can be subtracted if needed)

call me crazy but if that program was anyway shape or form built around maya then that where the red line is is the poly count.:yep2: (on the top picture)

edit, (something to take note of ;))

most if not ALL graphics programs do NOT display file names within the window you work in, within window only displays "numbers". (the top of the window where the blue bar is is where it displays file names and folder directory information)

I am pretty sure that they didnt use solely gameplay footage. There are blur effects often.

Regardless the most impressive thing about its visuals is how smooth t he car surfaces look. Its unbelievable.

The lighting still isnt as realistic as I hoped.

Sometimes its convincing sometimes its not.

Btw why does the new trailer say that there is a demo available now on XBOX Live?

That trailer is misleading then and pisses me off because I went anxiously to XBL to download it. Stupid MS

Currently it showing tris for the whole scene (total) and for the selected object (jazz). I believe this is the config they used.

hmmmmm, so it too shows polygon numbers on it's top left corner, this program that is used to display forza3's numbers aren't yellow though. (but lets just say that it IS cause the toolbar matches up conclusively)

that's about the best i can do since tinypic keeps making my pic into a JPEG. (i think we're going to need an other developer vid, cause i think we've been on this one long enough.......i hope they'll use better compression next time with nicer close ups:cry:)

Why is it a such a big deal that gear shifting animations are absent from cockpit view in this game? is it that important?

Anyways, Amalfi coast is making its way into the game. 19km track is amazing by the way, so I guess there will be two more circuits to reveal...
