[360] Forza Motorsport 3

Those might be real replay mode shots and not photomode. Front grill aliasing atleast made a severe cut in my eye when I looked too closely. :)

Grr, the metallic shaders still show way too much reflection in most areas, and should be dimmed a little bit more in general. Dark paints make it look worse.

A shame really, as the modelling is fantastic.

Four new screens!

Looks great as usual! Turn 10 seems to be on a media blitz with this game, I think they might even have a few more screenshots tomorrow.

That's the first shot I've seen of an SUV. I'm actually looking forward to trying one of those out to see whether they have been able to accurately model the unique handling characteristics of these vehicles due to their higher center of mass.

Thats looks like a regular station wagon, not a SUV.

Anyways, Now that cars can roll over, no reason as to why they shouldn't be able to model SUV's.

You're right. I should know better than to post before I have any caffeine in me.

Wow. They still can't model the disc brakes correctly. The discs are too far inset from the actual rims.
There's barely any difference:

Definately way too much reflection:

 I suppose God went on an acid trip when that photo was taken?

Stop trying to exaggerate flaws and give credit to how they've almost closed the artistic gap they had with PD. I'm really impressed, and didn't think they had the talent.

Well the angle on that pic might be slightly challenging, but a hatchback is as far from a station wagon as a station wagon is from an SUV.

Um, are you sure you know what a hatchback is?

They are hardly far from eachother, both have intergrated cargo space, the only difference being that the cargo space in station wagons tend have a more vertical door, as opposed to the hatchback.

Perhaps the station wagons are different in Europe.

In the US and Japan at least, station wagons have a greatly extended rear to enlarge the cargo area, while a hatchback generally keeps the same car length but adds a hatch over what would normally be the trunk (or boot if your English).

A Corolla/Accord wagon for example extends the rear of the car to increase cargo capacity drastically. A Civic hatchback on the other hand is pretty much the same length as the coupe/4 door.

SB

I've only ever known a station wagon to be a particular type of US car, built of wood or so it seems ;). In the UK we have estates. This piece sums up exactly the UK descriptions of automobiles. Of the linked pictures being disputed, the top one viewed from the rear is a hatchback and the bottom is a saloon.

Yes I do most of my cars have been hatchbacks.

This is a hatchback

And this is a wagon

SUV's have integrated cargo space also and their difference to wagons is usually a bit higher ground clearance and a somewhat taller body. Nowadays there are plenty of cars that are a mix between the wagons and SUV's like Audis Allroad series.

Heh, that used to be mostly true, but there is some variety now. For example, this is a 425hp wagon:

...and this is classified as a hatchback as well:

I wouldn't classify the Camaro as a hatchback, imo it's a 2 door coupe.

That SRT8 wagon is nice, but this

E63 AMG wagon with it's 514hp is nicer!

Seems to me this debate is kinda like arguing that McVities don't make biscuits, they make cookies! It's entertaining in its own way, but it's also going well off topic. We can move on from here by agreeing that of the cars shown, none is similar to an SUV of the sort described here as suggested by inquisitive idiot, and the current portfolio of cars hasn't yet deviated from those found in current racers. We can hope larger vehicles make an appearance. As Ostepop says, if they have car rolling, they can handle the high COG of the large vehicles.
