Somewhere I saw a suggestion that Sony BDP-S350 will be $299 at the end of this month. That's not too bad, if it happens. The S350 is actually reasonably performant, unlike the S300 it replaced (which was slow, slow, slow).

Memorex has announced a new entry-level Blu-ray player at an affordable price.

In a press release yesterday, Memorex announced a new Blu-ray player which the company says offers a broad range of format features for the suggested price of $269. The player is expected to arrive in retail locations by November.

I think within a year. 100 euro for a BR reader that is also a DVD writer, and 200 euro for a BD writer at the moment over here, and usually things are much cheaper in the U.S.
