It still can be enabled (before 1.6. Have not tested on 1.6) but not sure what gpu is strong enough.
My rtx 3070 literally crawls in seconds per frame.
With mods or cfg edits ?
Any more info on this RT Overdrive mode?
Thx manI used this one https://www.nexusmods.com/cyberpunk2077/mods/1502
But I don't remember which variables handles shadows.
There are lots of nice stuff there, including allowing V to have real time reflection.
Maybe in the form of "our engineers will work with you for free"?I hope nVidia is paying them to do that somehow. And maybe they can use the work done on the W3 "next gen" that we're still waiting for.

Sun shadow Rt was added in 1.5 iircReply 2 : Ok so, I don't know if it's the mods or just the fact that I havent played in a while since version 1.22 or 1.3x, but now the sun is casting shadows onto npc, that's nice. Still, a lot of light sources are not generating shadows, but, oh well, it's 2022. Anyway, thx again !
Currently traditional shadows have to be combined with the ray-traced shadows and then most people are grounded in Cyberpunk 2077. Hopefully with Overdrive there will be no need for traditional shadows anymore. On the pre launch trailer every npcs had shadows. Now it's sad that most of the time they don't. It makes the game really flat in some scenes :/
Just look at my post above. Objects are still not grounded properly with the Overdrive mode.Currently traditional shadows have to be combined with the ray-traced shadows and then most people are grounded in Cyberpunk 2077. So in that very specific example, I'm under the impression the tabletop itself is underlit -- a diffuse light is coming upward through the table so any possible shadow would be cast upward. Since it's a diffuse light, I suspect it wouldn't cast any shadow given the object size and distance to ceiling.I don't think this new overdrive mode comes even close to path tracing and itlikely won't be worth the performance cost. If it were, small objects like that (red arrow) would not appear like they are floating but they would be grounded with a very soft shadow.
