Ill tell my friend from IBM who lost his job(along with few thousand others) to an outsourcing company in India his job was "crap paying". Difference in wages was almost 50,000 dollars per person.K.I.L.E.R said:Sorry, but only crap paying jobs will go over to India/China.
what are you talking about?I have already done my business unit and outsourcing isn't anywhere near as bad as the media portrays it.
Hasnt stopped millions of jobs from leaving the US to asia. Levi's jeans also now completly made outside of US. So even non-tech related businesses are also leaving. Not only that but a vast majority of companies despise outsourcing because of the potential failures from the word go.
BTW: Don't read news/media reports about this stuff, I was foolish to do so and I paid the price (the teacher made me look like an idiot).
Humus said:That jobs are leaving western countries and goes to third world countries is something good IMO. It's the essence of how capitalism in the long term will actually solve the inequality problem. Third world countries that have liberated their market and opened up for foreign investment grows at rates far beyond that of developed countries. For instance have south korea gone from poverty similar to many african countries to almost western standards in just 25 years.

I cant believe im saying this, but either we need to institute a world wide minimum wage, or tarrifs on businesses who take jobs overseas.

It's says "crap paying" right up there. Ya know, in that message from you. The one you typed in.
Outsourcing is unavoidable, and as a lot of you have said can be potentially advantageous to the global economy. Having said all that, I'm not in the position (yet) where my job is at risk because of this. If it was I'm sure my view would change. As it is I'm not entirely sure whether moving every call-centre ever created to India is entirely a could thing for the consumer in the UK.

If you outsourced toilet cleaners, u'd have to move the toilets. Then eveytime u have to take a crap u'd have to go to India![]()

Have to admit I'm a bit confused about outsourcing toilet cleaning jobs to India as well. Very strange. I think I'll have to mull over the way KILER's mind works for a little while! Maybe we can outsource the burger flippers at McDonalds while we're at it.
K.I.L.E.R said:Good idea. We can get our Mc's in the mail.
I wander if people will crap in our burgers rather than spit in them.![]()
