Xbox360 e3 thread

Look when you go from a in game model to a cgi cut scene and then back to the in game model it breaks the mood. When your playing a game yes even with game engine cutscenes its not broken as it doesn't take you out of the feel and look of the game

Realtime 3D graphics still lacks a few important things:
- high quality geometry and shader/texture antialiasing
- high quality displacement mapping
- advanced lighting and shading effects
- really high geometry complexity

Expect to see quite a lot of CGI cutscenes in this generation, too. Blur studio (known for stuff like the Return to Wolfenstein and Warhammer 40K intro) is working on four different game cinematics nowadays, including Hellgate and Company of Heroes; then there's Blizzard Cinematics; and many of the japanese X360 games were advertised with CGI sequences as well.

My sister beat the newest final fantsy in 23 hours
I think she missed a lot of sidequests...

Recalls Iwata's opinion(not actual quote): "Most people don't play the whole of your 40-80 hr game..."

But I'm derailing the thread. Sorry, please ignore.

And Laa-Yosh, your presence is very appreciated. You are a valuable source for 'buckets of cold reality' by pointing out what's pre-rendered and what's CGI. I remember a thread on GAF from a guy who attended the X360 presentation with Anoop(Gamespy), high with ecstacy about how both of their jaws were falling off at the sight 'everything in real time!!!!'

Garbage editors/journalists.

Hopefully this will just be the case in the first generation games . I really hate the cgi and the break it gives to the games

I only check out the first one and the third one, they were from the MTV "special." I didn't bother with the second one but I'm guessing it's from that also.

So now that sony has released thier specs do you think ms will bump up any of thier specs ?

It seems like ms might be able to push the r500 to 550mhz and take away that spec advantage from sony .

What do you guys think will happen ?

11:30 pm est time is when it starts .

I think we are going to get an interesting bomb dropped on us with some titles that sony wanted exclusive to be out on the x360 before the ps3 launches in the usa
